looks like they did some porting on it??? IDK, but it doesn't look like it would reach the 02 housing..... anybody else??

but thats a pretty good price, and it doesn't neck down to the flex section 3" all around, looks good.

yeah, that's the main thing i was looking at is the flex section. looks like it still reduces at the cat and possible the o2 (can't tell) the cat side doesn't matter because i'll prolly hack off the reduced part and have my muffler shop weld on a 3" flange for my 3" high flow cat.

It's too bad the sellers aren't mainland, or they could spell their words a little better. :-? Does this make you wonder about the quality, I realise that sometimes you get what you pay for, and China has been doing some good manufacturing of sorts, but ..... deep down what does that leave you thinking?
Heck, if it holds up like it should and is cheap enough to buy 3 times over, then I guess my points are moot.

They are Mainland, it's in California, might just be some FOB shop or something...

Oh and netninja2001, the 02 inlet side of the DP is 3", unless they are doing false advertising... the Cat. Con. side looks stay 3 inch all the way to the end... I think I would buy this, but the price for shipping looks to be insane for me... I live in Hawaii BTW.

well i know for a fact that all the megan racing ones are reduced to stock size at the cat and the o2 housing and all of those say 3" inlet (which is BS) here's an ebay listing for one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 7971710483

Well i don't see megan racing anywhere on the new DP listing on ebay... so idk what your trying to say... besides megan racing sellers are a bunch of liars? ok..... but if you look close enough to the new DP it doesn't neck down anywhere, the O2 flange, theres no way that necks down............ the cat side sure as hell doesn't look like it does(smooth surfaces no welding in of transitions or "reverse flaring" of the 3" to match 2.5)...

But if your really worried about it, ask the sellers for more pictures.

i didn't say that they were megan racing. i was just using that as a comparison. also, afaik a 3" pipe wont bolt to the stock cat, much less the o2 housing. i've had time to look at them closer and they do "reverse flare" to 2.5" it looks like. here's some blown up photos. on the cat side I drew some green lines to see if it stayed straight
Image

and this one you can see the reflection bending where the metal does
Image

so i'm sorta changing this to a "how do you thing the weld at the os housing will last" thread :D

You are wrong, it does neck down to 2.5" on both ends exactly like netninja described.

For that price (75US) I'm tempted to buy one, even with the $55 shipping rate to Canada. I don't think I could build one that cheap, seriously. The flex section alone goes for about 100CDN.

The only thing Megan Racing I have is a muffler and I like it but as far as a DP I would rather spend money on a unit I know is quality than to get something sub par....I will just stick with my Apexi N1 DP.......yeah its 2.5" on the O2 but it stays 2.5" to the flex section then after the flex section it goes 3" and stays 3"......teh advantage to going to 2.5" to 3" is that it creates a hi low preasure situation where the 3" section is actually pulling exhaust gases out from the 2.5" section.....sometimes design is better than size.

well this answers a few questions.... it IS a megan racing downpipe. they musta changed the design to eliminate those welds... well i guess i'll be getting a megan racing dp after all!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 7972992595

EDIT - oh yeah, and it doesn't matter if it stays 2.5 to the flex or 2.5 to 3.0 to 2.5 if you port your o2 sensor at all...
