Ive worked on G54B's a time or two, so heres my take:
Why not run the cam angle sensor off your cam??? The DSM CAS just needs to rotate in phase with the cam, and spin at 1/2 the crank RPM. Use a 2.6L caravan camshaft which extends through the end of the valvecover (originally drove the trans-mounted water pump on the caravan) Those vans are all over in the junkyards...I think they wouldve been made in about 1983-85 era. The vans actually had the cool "Mitsu" valvecovers too, so if you find one, grab that too.

Perhaps you could use something like a lovejoy joint or grind a slot in the caravan cam to couple the two together. Make a custom bracket to mount the CAS, and figure out what orientation it needs to be in to make the engine start.
Is that low-buck enough for you???? ;)
The whole basis of EFI swapping is making the computer 'think' the engine is stock.

EAsier said than done. It is possible, I know it, to run the signal from the stock CAS but no one has decoded it yet it seems. Everyone just doest the EDIS or whatever it's called and I cant find any pictures of it on a DSM.

I either need to buy another eprom ecu, since mine too a dump on me, or try and go standalone. If I went with megasquirt I would actually make money after selling my current fuel setup and buying squirt'n'spark.... I just gotta make spark work and I'm golden.

Please, someone point me to instructions on how to make spark work on a DSM.

PMA1123 thanks for the input. I even have the mitsu valve cover on there now. Using the mini van cam is a good idea. i will have to check and see what kind of clearence i have back there and how I could mount it. The only thing is I wanted to do a bit of a cam but maybe I could get the minivan one reground.

My plan was to some how make it mount in the hole where the distrbuter went. I will look in to the cam thing further as that seems like the best plan.

Thanks
