 Post subject: wheres ECu @ excel?

i need some info where to locate ECU unit at my Excel x2? its going to be some check for all ok there because i have tried to 4G62 setup (MAF an 210cc) and my X has gone mad... :-? when the MAF is connected the car would not even start.. but when i unplug the wire its revs like cat.. any ideas what´s wrong?

your ecu is below the glove box on the right kick panel.

And if it's not there, I remember pulling the ECU out of some odd excel that was under the drivers side/panel area a few years back if I remember right.

okay, thanks. can you tell me what box is right under drivers seat? there is some Big black box with hell-of-a-lot wires comes in it.. what´s that?

new info:

that "black" box is silver, it has black plastic cover on it and it read T.A.C.U.... i have ripped off glowbox and both side kickpanels but i haven´t find ECU.. maybe it is that TACU box?

No the TACU is a whole bunch of circuitry for controlling your interior lights and such - it most definitely isn't your ECU!

The ECU on a Oz delivered (RHD) Excel X2 is on the drivers side under the kick panel and it will be in the same place on a LHD vehicle.

In any case you can always look it up in the shop manual:
