Yep, i got bored this weekend and carwled under the car. it was easy cause i had flanges on both sides, sprayed down the bolts with pb blaster, smoked a few cigarettes and came back to it.. it came off pretty easy and took about 15 minitues to get all the crap out. I probably got 1-4 hp... still worth the time though. The car has more balls up top (maybe 1/8 of a ball) but noticeable, and it sounds cooler... just a little something to hold me over better till the swap is done.

Oh and i turned the motor on with just the downpipe on and reved it a few times... sounded like a 4 banger with some power! pretty cool

The poor kitty!!

Hehe that "1/8 of a ball" descriptions sounds interesting! Did you stomp out everything or did you just hammer a tube through it?

i just used the handle on my friends hydraulic jack and a crowbar while wearing gloves. then we used the broken pieces of crap inside to cover one of the oil spots in his driveway  the epa would have been pissed. I would say that the car has some balls now but that would be a lie, hence the eighth of a ball that i gaind from the "mod" bad kitty

Hehehe the "bad kitty" mod. Slang for "removed/hacked catalytic converter". No EPA guy will ever get it! :D

i hate to be the one to say this, and i'm probably alone on this..but i think it's pretty irresponsible to increase your hydrocarbon emissions twentyfold (cat converts about 95% as i recall) on a daily driver for what is going to amount to a couple more horsepower in a pretty limited rpm range.
just my .02

Cats suck.

Thankfully they're only a requirement in the UK during their MOT test every year, and only on cars made after 1st January 1994. :P
