I'm guessing a lancer gsr would go for next to nothing then. Probably can't get anybody to import one of those.

They are pretty cheap, even from Canada. "Legally" you still can't register them until 2017 like lancerman said. There are ways around it, you're just taking a chance. It was worth it for me. Haven't had one issue the 5 years I've had my Evo 1.

Personally I love some of the older JDM SUVs they're bringing over now. The Toyota Hilux, Nissan Patrol, and even Mitsubishi has some cool vehicles and they usually only have 60k on them.

Prices are outrageous, but you might need a few cheaper things:

Mirror assembly in black Manual style LH per ASA.

j2toolsandsupply is the ebay company, search mitsubishi - tons of old stuff in there!

So, the ebay advert is for a LHD (as indicated by the steering wheel location and wiper blade positions) vehicle, that was destined for Japan?

I am confused. ASA Japan is the only program version (and country?) using Chassis codes and serialized units.

Euro car that came into Japan (was given an internal system Chassis code and serial number), then was bought and delivered to the US at a later date?

They never had a RHD DSM that I'm aware of, period.

This car was definitely meant for Japan, because the taillights have a paint-matched color strip going down the middle. If you look at the pic of my car, it's not painted--those are the European taillights.

Yup all the DSMs were made in America, then exported to other countries, no RHD option in any of them, minor cosmetic changes for european and asian versions like rear amber corners, fender side markers, badges and km speedometers, also some countries like germany had some aftermarket factory accesories that we never got in the states, I think I have the brochure let me see if I can find it...
