Spent a bit of rainy today hanging out in the garage, tidying stuff. My interior is pretty much back to normal now.
I'm going to keep it on the stock ecu now that my emulator works again, so it's been sorta-re-installed. To run the emulator full time, I can't put the ecu back where it belongs. The price I pay for my inability to focus, lol.

I've got it set up on the 3G eclipse MAF I was using with the evo ecu, and it purrs like a kitten. I'm running some custom code right now that increases the physical size of the maps, so the fuel/timing resolution is amazing. The old extended map code only doubled the range of the maps, but left them the stock size. The new way is way better for tuning, as it now goes all the way up to 30 psi (more or less) and is split into 17 different rows instead of 12. There's some code available to bring the physical RPM limit of the ecu up to 9000 too, but I'll never go higher than 7500, so no need to add it to my setup.

Is that a short ribbon cable? I have mine like that and was able to cut a slot out in the glove box for the ostrich, but i think the ribbon was longer.

Yep, Moates sells 6" cables too. The regular one is 18", which was waaaaaaaaaaay too long, so I bought some short ones :).

I also wanted the short cable to help eliminate any signal degradation/RFI. I grounded the case to the chassis as well. There's no known issue of this sort of thing in DSMs, but better safe than sorry.

I sense a disturbance in The Force.

Psst, I'm a member at Club DSM Canada too.

Figured, lol ;).
If it doesn't go within 7 days, I'm keeping it. I only put it up to try to get some debt paid off faster, but so far nobody's biting. It's kind of a relief, lol.

Still mine so far, and aiming to be mine for a long time, lol.

Now the clutch master is leaking, sigh. Went to back it out of the garage today, and the clutch pedal hit the floor. Rats. So that makes brakes AND clutch that need a going-over. Razzafrazzit! lol.

I think once the exhaust is done (not backing out on that, I'm tired of the loudness when I run it in the garage), I may take a break for a bit and round up some new parts.

SWEET! I may have fixed the leaky oil return (at the pan). Got the colt up on some ramps so I could get the leaks fixed before the trip to the shop, and dropped the dp. Removed the return at the pan and ran a tap through the holes (with lots of grease on it to catch the metal). It turns out the bolts I was using were too short! Previous owner strikes again! . I put some proper-length bolts in, and I was able to snug it up perfectly. A bit of blue loctite on the threads for good measure too, lol.

Now the clutch slave is up for replacement next. Thankfully they're cheap!

Rockauto is the best. $36 CAD (including shipping) for a new clutch slave and master. Booya :).

I got bored today so I removed the brake master cylinder. Turns out it's fine.

Boredom is evil.

Leaky oil return = fixed :). My oil pan is as dry as a bone, and has been full for a good couple of hours. I don't think I've ever had a car that didn't drip oil.

The clutch slave is on its way here, but I don't think it'll hit the border before the 4th, so it'll probably be fixed by next weekend. I hear the US shuts down for a few days starting thursday ;).

Clutch slave DONE!
That's the last of the jobs before it goes away for exhaust work in two weeks.

I'm going bonkers. Vacation coming up in three days, then exhaust work on the 26th. Is it wrong of me to want to skip my vacation entirely and just go right to the exhaust?

I can't WAIT to be able to fire it up and not deafen the neighborhood.

Exhaust DONE! :)
HpAuto.ca pulled off an awesome exhaust again, not a single knock, tick, or bang. Complete bolt in too, all the stock hangers. Can't even tell it's not a stock exhaust (kinda).

A vid of the triumphant first drive. Can't really hear it, but it's super quiet anyway. Cat and muffler, no resonator.

I took the car out for a couple of WOT pulls today, and had a ball. It's quick, although I was apparently getting some knock at part throttle boost. I doubt it's actual knock, since at WOT it's much lower at the same RPM/boost. I'll modify the knock filters a bit and see how it helps.

For a 1.6 on a 13G, it's pretty fun to drive. Definitely fast enough for me for the moment.
