Okay, so I need original colt turbo axles. That will be the 2 equal length axles with an intermediate shaft on the drivers side that bolts to the block. From what I have read in the axle thread either a mirage turbo or dsm intermediate will work? Also that thread is quite old, are there still parts houses that sell them that anyone knows of?

Yes, a dsm intermediate shaft will work but you *might* have to glue a dsm transmission seal on top of the original seal. I didn't have to but some others have had to. You won't know until you put the shaft in and see if it leaks or not. The difference between a dsm intermediate and a turbo mirage intermediate is that the mirage version has a "cup" on the side that goes into the transmission which helps seal it. Your best bet would be to go to the closest carquest and use the part numbers in the axle thread. They MAY have them listed as "88 turbo mirage" axles, they did when I got mine. Don't forget to shim the intermediate shaft out away from the block, there is a bracket that originally goes between the two for the air conditioning. You can either cut the ear off the bracket or use hardened washers. You should be able to rotate the shaft by hand once it is bolted up.

elantra transmissions have the same km210 stamped in them, and use the same differentials. a local guy (currently 550+ whp, his sn here is bastarddsm) bought autozone axles for his. using the f5m33 dsm fwd trans, from a 90. he is uing the 95, 1.8L elantra axles. i can verify that the passenger side is the same as csm gt. and last i researched on autozone.com the drivers side long csn 1.6n/a axle is the same as the elantra.

they will work fine.

use two of the same seal if you use csm intermediate shaft. i dont know why so many people over think the situation.
i use 2 passenger side seals from a 90. they seal both sides of my transmission axles just fine. have been like that for almost 7 years now. never once had an issue.
