I've recently done a vr4 conversion again after my previous got defected I've got everything plated. Though its not running no way near as good as it was previously.

Atm it's got no power kicking in till late revs (4500-5000) I hear the spooling at 2500 but its keeps spooling and holds then once at those late revs in just kicks - epic lag

Mods I've got running are

vr4 motor
Full 3" mandrel exhaust with high flow cat and magnaflow muffler, along with driven performance manifold and 38mm tial external wastgate.
HKS SSQV bov
Evo 7 560cc injectors
Eprom chip for fuel/boost cut, 560cc injectors, 055 maf etc
14b turbo
055 maf with pod
2.5' IC piping with evo 6 cooler.
60mm TB
sard regulator
walbaro fuel pump

I've swap the eprom to different setup to suit smaller injectors 450cc and swap the injectors to stock - They worked fine on the car. Eventually I did swaps and trials between the 2 eproms with difference size injectors (450 & 560) regardless to what they were suited to.

The out come was:

450cc eprom with 450cc - work
560cc eprom with 560cc - don't work
560cc eprom with 450cc - work

Obviously the 450cc work better with suited eprom. As results showed I made the assumption it was the 560cc injectors (yet I did get them flush, did not fix the problem) and bought another set. They did not fix the problem its just spools noise but doesn't move till late revs.

Any suggestions?

If a video explains better i'll post one up

I think you should run the stock EPROM on the car and tune it with a piggyback controller like a S'AFC or something similar. 560cc injectors really aren't that much larger than 450's, the car shouldn't run that much differently, especially at WOT, would just be really rich. It's also a very good idea to check for boost leaks.

Or you could go and swap a 2g mas in with those 560cc and it should be pretty close to back inline. Sounds like you could have a wastegate partly open problem due to the fact you can hear it spooling but takes forever to spool and pull hard.

His modlist said "055 maf", which is a 2g MAF.

Ah, good call, them he should be running decent with a stock ecu and that combo. Safc would definitely help dial it in though.

Yea sorry I did check for boost leak - checked all lines and connection and nothing. Though I went back and look again, yet to my surprised the hose from wastegate to boost solenoid was burnt through from underneath from my aftermarket ss manifold. :ditto:

I havent had the chance to swap injectors. Atm im running 560cc eprom with 450cc injectors. One of my water hoses burst so in the process of replacing them all.

When I read the title I instantly thought wastegate problem. Glad you fixed it and shared.

^Really? Are you sure? Silicone should be able to stand up to the heat more than conventional hoses.

problem still persist. I've swap back to 560cc lags low end picks up mid range and hesitates at high range 5* timing. Advancing the timing reduces the problems and drives alot better.

Before hand i was using eprom chip for 560cc injectors but 450's running. Though i was getting 50kms -10L :toimonster: which is shit.

Ive swap bov cause it feels like restrictions. no leaks or vacuum leaks. It idles perfect and starts fine.

i wish i had ecmlink but i right now i cant afford it.

i need to get a new eprom burnt since ive broken one of the pins
