My wife's 02 Lancer has the 4G94 in it and it's a dog of a car. Granted it's a 4 door but come on Mitsu, 120 hp? WTF? Anyway, when she snapped the timing belt at 107,000 miles I replaced the head with a 4G93 with 18,000 miles on it. The 4G93 cam is considered the first stage upgrade as per that Mitsu place in Austrailia. But I have to say that these engines won't accept much boost unless the internals are strengthened. Also, with a used block you WILL run into trouble unless you have all of the gaps, bores, and clearances checked between the block and the head. Trust me, it's happened to me before with one of my Civics. Once that is complete and the shop says that it's a good head and block, then you know what to order aftermarket internal parts for. I understand that money is always an issue but if you want to go big (or mildly big), you have to have some cheese.
Yea, trust me I will def have some cheese once I grad and get a job in my field, but dont underestimate our engines, they are pretty stout

but I know its just the smart thing to get stronger internals for sure. That place you are talking about in Aus is RPW.
Sorry I havent posted in this trhead in awhile guys
