I have the only mirage with power windows and cruise... :jive: ...and matching white bumpers from a turbo colt.
I still say you're driving a Colt with an identity crisis.

Who says the Mirage didn't come with power windows? That's crazy in my opinion. Why would this only be offered on Colts which were also made by Mitsubishi and re-badged.

Brian, if you don't mind pm me your VIN and I will look on CAPS and see if they were factory or not.

I don't think it was ever offered as an option on the Mirage. I've never seen a Mirage with power windows or cruise control, just Colts.

I've never seen a 4g csm with rear discs or a 94/95 elantra with rear discs but they exist. I find it hard to believe that power windows were only available on colts. Not saying you guys aren't correct, I just think if it was available on one more than likely it was available on the other. Not to mention I've seen 4G15 3g sedans with power windows and they were Mirages.

I believe the 3g sedans were an exception, Chris. Only the turbo colts came with the options...but then again, have you seen a turbo colt without power windows and cruise? It must have been standard on those cars. Mirages came plain jane for some reason.

I assure you that my car is a factory Mirage. There was this white turbo Colt that got frame damage, and some parts were transplanted to my mirage....so it is a freak, or however you want to look at it. I'm just 100% positive there was a donor car, and that they never made a turbo mirage with those options.

Anything is possible, I just find it very odd that Mitsubishi would do that, that's all. I looked on CAPS and they do show power windows as an option on the C53A's.

All of the following body styles could be had with power windows from what I recollect seeing overseas: C5x/6x/7x/8x.
The only issues were what you could order or what most people ordered due to cost factors. Some options add like $1500 to cars, so most people except doctors and other money tycoons (well this is relative to the buyers market for Colts/Mirages) opt out of buying them. 8)
Alot of cars were just on dealer lots, but it makes me wonder what you could actually order back then being that cars came off the boat.

That is a sad sight to see but I could use some parts. ;)

I'm in need of these parts:

1. right door molding
2. left fender molding
3. left door window beltline trim/window weatherstrip.

also I am looking for a/c parts as in the compressor bracket/compressor idler pulley and bracket/condenser fan/and the A/C engine compartment wiring harness.

Yeah, it's just odd to me that I've NEVER seen a Mirage with power windows or cruise control (minus Incoltnito's car which I think is actually a Colt), but I've seen a plethora of Colts with those options. Seems odd to me that all the rich people who could afford the bling options would buy the Colts, leaving the Mirages to the poor white trash. Hehe.

Dude's, what I was trying to say is it was a factory option. But I have to agree with Tonus, haven't really seen the turbo mirage's with colt option's in it. But whats funny is they are wired for them, and 89mirageman has a good point as I have found non turbo car's with turbo bucket seats(dif. clothe design),power mirror's,GT wing's,rear wiper sprayer with 0 other option's,weird :o

I know what I have, but would you rather have a blood sample, sir?

The one on the dash matched as well.

None of these cars (C53a) were sitting overseas waiting to be ordered with options. We could debate all day the colt/mirage theory. We know for fact that Mitsubishi ceased to make them because of the negotiated deal with DSM. I believe they wanted Colts to be luxurious performance cars with standard goodies and Mirages to be stripped down to business performance cars. Had they actually made the Talon/Laser/Eclipse in Japan, I think we would have seem more turbo CSMs here. People would have been demanding the options from the factory at that point.

I think someone took a Colt and put its guts into your car, hence the color-matched moldings and such. Just my theory.

I just ran the VIN on CAPS and wasted 5 minutes of my time  . It still shows the power and manual window options.

None of us really should give two shits if the car came with power windows or not but for some reason I want to know the answer. :P

As far as the bumpers are concerned, most bolt on exterior panels have a small decal with the VIN stamped on it on the inside. I know the doors, hatch and fenders have this and I'm pretty sure the bumpers do too. This would at least settle the bumper confusion. This is assuming that the decals are still there and you can make out the digits after 20 years.
