So I know it's been ages since I've updated you guys but there is finally some movement toward this thing being ready for 2008 summer action
Moving the Colt away from my buddy Bryan's garage and into my parents shop however many months ago was a big step backward because it took the car even further from my house. Only getting to spend weekends with my girlfriend leaves me wanting to just hang out with her rather than work on any of my cars even though we always seem to have just as much fun projecting. She's been one of the only reasons I've made any progress at all and is hugely supportive in general so I can thank her for taking this step.
With the car just over an hour's worth of driving just to get to and from to work on it makes it tough. The few times that I did I often found that I'd left a tool at my place that I needed to complete a project I had planned for the day which only made it that much more frustrating. My house is still on the market so I haven't been able to move into a place that would allow inside storage of the Smurf so moving it closer hasn''t really been a convenient option. Given all that, I've realized that with my other projects and the weekend situation not changing in the near future that I really do just need to relinquish completion of the project to the pros.
All that said, Mo and I buttoned up the front end of the car sans transmission (I'd taken it back out to install an "LSD insert") and loaded all of the misc. parts in the gutted back half of the interior to get it tow ready. Sometime soon I'll be dollying it to Lucas at English Racing -
www.englishracing.net to finish the job and get it ready for the track. He'll be finishing work on the fuel system, transmission, gauges, exhaust, cage and other various work needing completed so I can get down to breaking some hearts on the freeway and at the track!
With the turbo kit, intercooler kit and other misc. equipment from Extreme Turbo Systems (where I work), he built and tuned Paul Nelson's 1014whp EVO that was on the January cover of Modified magazine. He's been at the forefront of making 4g63s sickly fast for many many years as lots of you local guys already know

Given that and his awesome team I have no doubts that the car will be finished right! I'm really looking forward to actually being able to drive it and will keep you guys posted as we draw closer
Engine bay in complete disarray as usual
Passenger side GVR4 hub, Rotora rotor (sadly surface rusted from sitting around), new Elantra LCA w/ new ball joint, SS lines, Eibach spring and Koni strut all back in!
And finally bolting up the world's most hideous 15" chrome don't get you home wheels. Ready to tow out of there!
