I decided to take the turbo mirage out today. The sun was out and not a drop of rain, so the road conditions were pretty good.
I just reinstalled the sideskirt on the driver's side.....so I thought she was looking pretty sexy!

Anyways, I'm cruising down the strip when someone in the right lane speeds up and sticks to me like a magnet. It's been a long time since this has ever happened, perhaps six years ago when my stripped out turbo Probe GT was still streetable...it felt awkward....so I reluctantly look over and this person in a Honda is literally drooling all over himself. We got to a stoplight and he was a couple cars back. I could see this guy and his passenger bobbing their heads all around....it was pretty funny....cause I knew they were checking out the mirage. The light turned green and I shot over to the right lane. The guy sped up again and stuck right beside me. I was thinking to myself.....please don't urge me to race, please no! His buddy rolls down the window and I did the same. Big smiles on their faces, right? The driver leans over and yells "Hey man! What year is that????!!!!" I told him it's an 89' ...and he looked genuinely curious as he asked "and it came with a turbo????" I just nodded yes, and he made a turn off to an apartment complex.

The car gets looks, that's for sure.....but nobody yet took the time to ask about it. So, I thought that was pretty neat.

surprised someone wante to know about the car. I never get looks from others except for that one time i got a thumbs up in the freeway from a corolla driver, hmmm

I was at the mcd's a week ago and I was pulling out of the parking spot and this kid about 8-9 who was walking with his dad stops, turns, and stares in awe as I slowly pulled away. Inspiring future car guys=priceless.
