:D Ho boy! I got the crank delivered, finally, and now Charles has the crank and pistons in. (Yes, I helped  )(Sorry, no pics. Charles left his digital camera home, and my disposable is not through and I don't know how to post them anyway. Made some for later.) All went well, but we are puzzled by our manual's torque specs. I don't have it in front of me, but some were very low; like the main bearing @ 18+a90 turn. Doesn't seem right. The Mitsu dealer said he didn't have any for that engine. So, does anyone have torque specs for the 4G61t main bearings and connecting rod bearings? (I am starting to search, but thought I would post just to see if there was a quick source.) :D Thanks loads, Gary, That sure is more in line. I actuallu thought that it might be near 60 for the mains, but 50 is close enough. I was sure that 18 couldn't be right. BTW, I hadn't found any other source before your post. Thanks again. Bill Spruill, oldest Colt (and Charles)

are you using stock fasteners or A.R.P. studs and bolts?
for the factory fasteners, the above torques specs are correct
If you are using A.R.P. products(which i would HIGHLY recommend)
its 40lb, break loose and trque to 40 3 ties for the rod bolts with the moly lube supplied,
and for the main studs its 60 with moly lube,
head studs are 80 with moly lube, torqued in 3-4 stages of course.

www.summitracing.com is a good supplier of them, as they cost about 50% or less than rre's or extreme motor sports cost.

Thanks, Crackerman. I already torqued con. rods to 38 and mains to 51, as by Gary (2.0powerc50), above. I am using ARP's and the molylube. So, I guess I should release that and continue for two more times at 40 con. and 60 on mains. We can get that Mon. Have been waiting for a gasket for the oil pump before closing, so nothing lost. Hope to get the head on Mon. or Tues. (Torqued to 80 three times with molylube as you suggest. And Yes, they did come from Summitt with free shipping. :D

torqued to 80, 3 times?
no, in 3 or 4 stages,
like 20, 40, 60 and tehn 80, then 80 again, usually you only need to do it once, and if you really wanna make sure that its good, you can then retorque to 80 after the engine is warm, but is not necessary,

Not to worry. It makes a good thread for future use, and, like I said, nothing lost. Bill
