Please explain what you mean by having to switch the 6 and 14 pins on the C50 harness. I am also in the process of wiring mine up very soon and I am using a 94 harness.

Here ya go - http://www.ecanfix.com/users/mdhamilton/ecuwiring.html

Got a few more new mods for Papa Smurf this week. Fidanza flywheel, Koni Yellows in front and 1g AWD GR2s for the rear to couple with the 1g Sportlines in front and stock Evo springs in back (may need a coil or two cut), Cusco adjustable rear lateral link for an AE86 that we're going to adapt, Momo hub for the new wheel and the Evo's new T4 GT35R and Tial 44mm wastegate :)

Image

Looking like I'll be on my own tomorrow as all of the guys have other crap going on (maybe I should've thought of that) and SPEC didn't get me the clutch in time for the weekend. So no tranny back on and motor in but the Prothane and motor mount installs and suspension can get done so we'll see how I do.

I also still need to hit the junkyard for both fenders, a 1g AWD intermediate shaft, J1 Elantra brake booster and lower control arm bushings (destroyed the stockers getting the stock hubs off) so if all else fails I can go do that. Too bad nobody else is close, it's gonna suck working on this by myself!

Well Saturday was a bust because everybody was off doing something else and I was feeling lazy. Lazy and nobody else pushing me and nothing got done :). I got over to Bryan's today and we got some accomplished but never as much as I'd like. As an aside I brought all four of my stock Evo springs (we're using the rears) and it looks like both the front and rear would work and provide a conservative drop from stock. The spring rate on them is obviously quite a bit higher than that on the Colt but not too high, mid 200s range front and rear IIRC as my Tein's aren't that much more. On to the pictures....

Yeah man I'm ready to put in some time on the harness in your 4g tomorrow and definitely make some progress on mine this weekend!

Rear rotors and front/rear pads are in, just waiting on Rotora to deliver the slotted fronts to complete my VR4 conversion.

Got the FMIC today from Yonaka Motorsports and am totally stoked on it. It looks sick and can't wait to see it mounted on the front of the Colt :) If you'd like one, see our 4g61t.org special on these here - http://www.4g61t.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=17711

I didn't get the UJ bends I'd ordered yet (we're running a special on those too in the vendors section) but will have them soon. Priority is getting the motor in first so when that happens I'll start complaining about no bends, hah. Ok here's the picture of mine, 22x9x3 core plus endtanks.

On the note of the turbo axle in the rear seat, wait until you get a V6 in the rear seat. :o http://www.cardomain.com/ride/488838/3
How about a 32" tv in the back of a hatchback. Wish I had taken a pic of that, couldn't even see out of the rearview mirror.

Well we didn't make it into the garage until 3:30 in the afternoon but made some progress before leaving for happy hour anyway. I'll cut straight to the pictures.

Thanks to Ben grabbing these on the way over, Bryan doin the Dew

The front suspension is all done and ready to install on the car, we just need new lower control arm bushings and SS brake lines to button that up. Probably nothing going to happen tomorrow but we should FINALLY have the clutch this week to finish putting the motor together to drop it in next weekend. As always we'll keep you posted.

Ben did that part but it was in the instructions that come with the inserts.

FINALLY! The clutch arrived from SPEC today so we have everything necessary to put it together and drop the motor in 8) I'd like to get the motor in this weekend and I would be way stoked if we could get it fired.

We did our typical slow progress this weekend and mostly just hung out, but did get some work done :) The mounts are now all done and the flywheel and clutch are installed on the motor. We got it halfway into the engine bay before realizing we still had the stock DSM mount on the front of the motor and the rear mount was on the crossmember backward. After we pulled the motor back out to fix these issues Ben pointed out that putting on the 1g AWD intermediate shaft would be much easier with the motor out so we're gonna hold off on dropping it in until we have that piece. We also pulled the AC, bracketry, pulleys and belt off of the motor since none of that will be used in the Colt's setup. Talk about cleaning off the timing belt side and rear of the motor! Those pieces are quite a bit of weight and I assume a good amount of parasitic drag on the crank so a good deletion. The Hyundai valve cover is a bit thicker at the bolt holes than a stock 4g63 cover so I got longer ones of those too for the sickest upgrade in the project yet. You can tell we didn't do much when I'm listing new valve cover bolts as a mod :) I also threw on the 4g61 water elbow.

Now on to the good stuff. This sort of just worked out by way of Bryan getting an awesome hookup and passing it along to me on the PTE T4 50 trim you see below. I realized this is supposed to be a purpose-built drag car and that my plan to make ~300whp on the 14b was pretty lame....so I stepped up the game a bit. The stock Evo injectors and pump are going to be sold off as they just aren't going to be sufficient anymore. When we pulled the manifold we found it cracked top and bottom and the turbo exhaust side cracked into the wastegate opening. Knowing that I was pretty happy that the new turbo came into play since we'd have had to upgrade anyway. On to the pics...

Stock cracked 14b and cracked manifold next to the 50 trim beast
