the 60-1, 23psi, and my heavy foot told that galant trans what was up. the starter didn't like it too much anyways. i picked up a 94 fwd dsm trans with low miles. the motor iteself is definately due for a round of maintenance and modification.

so, the time has finally come to do the deed. i've been avoiding this for too long. there have been a few times when it would have probably been easier to pull the motor, but i just didn't feel like busting out the picker. shouldn't take me more than about an hour and a half with hand tools. my compressor is jacked up.

im also thinking about picking up one of those ebay traction bar kits...

Just a little heads up on the 94 FWD tranny. The late 92+ FWD DSM's use larger axle splines, therefore the stock colt axle and intermediate shaft won't work unless you swap in an "early style" diff. I am doing this to my 94 FWD tranny now.

Yep, I'm actually using one from a 91 AWD automatic tranny. The diffs are the same, just have to swap out the ring gear. The LSD's that you are referring to are simply inserts that go in the stock diff. You might want to think that over because some have complained that it just filled their tranny with metal but then again others swear by them.

i actually justed decided to say "fruit and banana it" and go welded. my car isn't daily driven and i don't have money for a high-dollar lsd, so i might as well. its not like im building my car for handling or road racing. i have about 4 or 5 90-91 awd and fwd front diff assemblies lying around. i really need to get a built trans for the kind of power im going to be making though.

i will prolly post some pics up of the motor pull and some of the various mods im doing.

picked up a 4" intake pipe today. so i guess my 3" dejon will be forsale.
