Do clutch alignment tools actually work first go, no hassle? I'm trying to align my new clutch to my tranny and am having a lot of heart ache... I've found one but it's like $42 and thats just crazy!!!!! Thanks.

Well, a clutch alignment tool whether it is aluminum with adapters or steel with likewise adapter bits, doesn't make a difference; as long as you have the right parts to fit into the crank snout, thereby keeping everything center aligned. If you can find one cheaper than that, then go for it, otherwise just consider it money well spent. :o 8)

Now, that is a smokin' deal! Shouldn't be that hard to get that to Australia. I wouldn't hold my breathe on the shipping though.

i checked the shipping earlier and it's an extra 12 bucks or something on top of whatever the actual shipping price is... but i'm positive you can find that thing somewhere over there already.

I take my 11mm socket (or whateve size it was) and just wrap the end in black tape to make it the clutch fit snug. Shove it all together and pull the socket out.

Cost: One socket I already own and about 10" of black tape.

Thanks all! Luckly I found one at Autobarn for $23.50 and it worked first go. :D I know what you're saying about the tappered spindle but everytime i tried, it just wouldn't go in. The crazy thing is i've done it before with no alignment tool, but this time it was a struggle. Also none of my mate were able to help and i had to do the whole job myself, so my backs thanking me for it! Cheers.
