Does anybody know the recommended torque for the 2X 12mm Auto tensioner bolts? The manual doesn't seem to say...

Also does 14ft/lbs seem a little small for the Tensioner "B" Bolt??? Just seems weird as the Tensioner Pulley bolt is 35ft/lbs.

so basically...

install belt
clamp belt to alighned cam gears
install tenstioner
adjust tension pulley
tighten down check the gap between the tensioner body and tension arm(.15-.18")
rotate engine 6-times
recheck gap, pull "grenade pin"

???

Yes, but what is the torque for the 2 bolts that hold the Auto Tensioner on to the engine?

My factory manual states 14 to 20 ft.lbs for the tensioner bolts (tensioner to engine) and 31 to 40 ft.lbs for the tensioner pulley bolt.

If the value is 30-40 lbs then you most likely have a 14mm bolt head and you are going into steel/cast iron material. If you have a value of 14-20 ft'lbs then you most likely have a 12mm bolt head, possible the same material as stated before. Do not overtighten your bolts, but be sure to add a "little" Blue Loctite to make sure you're never in there again, with a bolt that fell out.

In the end I decided to make this tool (MD 998738). Cost me a total of $3.85AUD. Simply bought a threaded rod , 1m X 8mm X 1.25mm from my local nuts and bolts supplier. Hack sawed the end off and put two nuts on the end. Fits perfectly. How easy was that!!!!!! :D
