In the past few days as i drove to and from work, the tach needle started to jump around. it would also stop for a sec here and there, but would always start working again. I dont think it is bump related as i cross tracks and hit bumps in the road every now and then. It only happens when i am just cruising along. Well today, i came home and shut off the car(tach was working). About an hour later decided to go get some beer and when i started the car, NOTHING!.

Ive tried all the fuses and jiggled all the wires where they are hooked up by the ecu. Ive checked every connector under the hood and even checked all the wires going to and from the coil pack. I called Nate and he said i need to check the coil pack transistor the would control the tach signal. Is it on the left side of the coil(the flat plug)? And also if i cant get the factory tach to work in the next few days i am going to put in my monster tach since i am going to the track this saturday. What color(signal) wire am i looking for near the coil pack(to tap into). Id hate to put my 5'' tach in the permanently since i am going for the stock look, but if have to..... oh well. P.S. since i am a retard, pics would be nice?? So i know what the hell is going on. Thanks guys for all the help so far!!

I'd try to clean all connections to the coil, transistor and noise filter. Also the contacts on the gauge cluster may be corroded, but that's less oikely because they're inside the car and don't get in contact w/ lots of moisture. Dielectric grease works wonders!
