Well, tommorow a kid is going to test drive the Summit. I have my eyes on a pristine 1992 Eagle Talon TSi for $3,600 in immaculate condition. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I'll be getting around $3,500 for my car.

Much like the mark-up on cheeseburgers bound for the North, you seem to be getting the better end of the deal on that one! 8) Let us know when you start having trouble with that "sports" car and you want to go back to a clean sleeper. :o

I'm sure somebody has said this before, but the only thing "sleeper" about my car is when I step on the gas pedal...

edit- oh yeah, Jeff told me I'd be his hero if I got near that much for the summit. Test drive tommorow at noon, I'm offering them $3,200. :finga:

You have a very clean car but if it was mine and I could get $3500 it would be gone in a heartbeat. You'll love the TSi if you get it. Plus you can always pick up a cheap CSM shell later for the swap. Good Luck!

NOOOOOOOO!!!!! CSM's as clean as yours are too hard to find. Youre already so far along with your car, a motor swap is no big deal!
For all the right reasons, keep your summit!!!!

Well guys, today sucked the big one.

I wake up, give this guy "Dennis" a call to make sure the Talon was still for sale and tell him I'll probably be buying it in a few hours (I got rid of my car @ around 1pm.) I bring my car to my buddy Jesse's house who was going to buy it, we drive all around town, I show them my folder 2" thick with receipts, explain that the car is rock solid, new suspension, new brakes, it comes with 3 sets of tires on rims, a ton of old parts to mess around with, and basically whore my car. At about 2:30, we settle for $3,100. She writes me the first check for $1000, and I get into my car, and at about 3pm, I call up "Dennis" to say, hey buddy, I sold my car, I'm ready to take that TSi off your hands. What does "dennis" say? "Uhhh...sorry kid, I just sold it to some kid, better luck next time." Click.

So, here I am, car-less, and f-ing pissed. But I was EXTREMELY lucky, I called up Jesse and said..."Uhhh...can we chat for a second?" I stop by his house, his mother immediately says, "Of course you can have your car back, you're such a nice young man, blah blah blah," and I return the check, and nothing has changed. Hillary is parked outside where she belongs. I think this is the last time I do something like this for a while. BTW, did I mention I hate Juneau?

meh.
-James

She would have been sold for $3100 if i were you. Then pick up a beater for a couple hundred dollars while i save up some money to really buy the car i want. There's gotta be another dsm turbo around even if its freakin Alaska. Damn, move to Colorado already!

Sounds like the Talon guy was a prick anyway. I wouldn't even want his car if he acted like that. I guess you could say that it was just meant for you to keep the Summit!

Sorry to hear about that James. Well I had my Lincoln sale fall through just short of the first downpayment cheque. I had worked so hard and was going to even help to safety the car on the other side of the provinvcial border (because I hadn't moved on my $2000 asking price), but to no avail. The kid got a job in Ontario, and now had a three point distance to worry about that would have put the gas bill above his head. Bah, I hate English people from Quebec. lol .... nah just those that can't make up their minds in a timely fashion; sad part is that they would have been the perfect candidates - he had 3 other 1970's boats parked in his barn, some good (race ready) and some bad - can't put a magnet to them! Such is life in the car businass.
