 Post subject: coil and suspention Q's

on a 8v 4g15, is there any reason i would have a hard time with an aftermarket coil, like a blaster


and where is a good place to get a replacement strut pivot

I guess what you are saying is that you have the distributor coming out the back of the head toward the firewall? If this is the case and you have a separate ignition coil, you have many options as to what you can do.
I suggest finding whatever coil you feel comfortable with and slapping it on with a better set of secondary wires (plug wires). This shouldn't foul anything up for the computer as far as I know.

One question for the other guys out there though.

Has anyone tripped a CEL (Check Engine Light) after changing to a better coil? Just curious, I've never swapped on this particular application before. My setup is a 12V coil in distributor.

As for the strut pivot, mine were swapped as a matter of the safety check, but any parts warehouse or even the dealer should have this stuff for you.

should i get a mirage one?
