I gotta question for the guru's on here. I am having extreme difficulties getting my ball joints removed from my lower control arms. I've done my homework to make sure that 1992 Plymouth Colt 100's do in fact have replacement ball joints. BUT..... After not being able to hammer them out, torch them out or press them out. I'm wondering if the cross-eyed hillbilly that screwed this car up before I got ahold of it, possibly put the wrong years Colt lower control arms on it. My reasoning is b/c after viewing photos of 92' L C A & 85 -89 Colt Lower control arms, they appear to look the same. With that said, where else can I verify that I have the correct (stock) part on my ride. ***** According the Chiltons manual... 85-89 Chrysler brand Colts have non replacement ball joints! LCA & Ball joints are sold as one unit. I need pictures!

I was able to press out my front lower balljoints with the balljoint press Autozone rents. Had no issues pressing old ones out or new ones in. Before I rented that tool I had tried banging them out with heat and a hammer with no success.

Yeah! I wasted my time and money buying Harbor Freight's 3 in 1 ball joint tool. Needless to say, it didn't work! That cheap ass steel they use for the C frame bent and so did the rod that is threaded to press out your part with. Made in China.... They should just stick to making cars & stop trying to make tools!! Haha.

Yelp. Did all that! I had to take both control arms off and take them to Tire Discounters, which is charging me $55 to press em out with their press. Took them about 30 minutes. I now have a newer issue to deal with!!! Haha. These Damn cars....
