I'm on the Evo ECU for the moment, so it's a 2G knock sensor.

It's phantom knock, although I've altered my ignition maps just in case, lol.

Got my 3 bar MAP sensor wired into the Evo ecu so I can log my actual boost level. The last of the parts I need to 'finish' the car should show up on wed too. A CV boot kit (inner) and a swaybar endlink. I love rockauto :).

Then, it'll be ready to sell, safety, or store until next year, lol.

Keeping it for now, since nobody's contacted me about buying it yet, lol.

I treated myself to a Tactrix OP2.0 tuning interface today. This will give me the ability to tune 2G flashable ecus (98-99), as well as newer Lancers/Evos/Ralliarts (08+), and Subarus. My current setup limits me to 01-07 Mitsubishi Lancers/eclipses. I hope to make a bit of headway into tuning the 01-05 Sonatas/03-06 Outlanders/05-07 Ralliarts too :).

...and the saga of spending continues. A buddy is parting a 91 Galant FWD 63T swap he built for someone, then bought back a month later. Grabbing the nearly-new in-tank walbro for $50 .
The OP2.0 should show up today, apparently Tactrix sent it one-day delivery with Fedex! I really like their customer service.

I'm thinking of replacing the fuel tank, since RockAuto has them at a decent price. Not sure yet, I have to drop my tank to install the walbro (yay colts), so I'll check then. Definitely doing the re-wire at that point, and possibly cutting an access panel in the floor so I never have to drop this thing again.

Well, the tank is out. It seems to be quite new, but instead of studs holding the fuel pump in...it's PHILLIPS SCREWS. Yeah...those wont' strip...*end sarcasm* :(.

Also broke off the inlet/outlet of the pump holder, so I'll need to redo them with some bulkhead fittings.

Oh, before any of this goes back in, I'll be cutting an access panel for fuel pump access from inside the car. I don't ever want to have to drop this thing again.

Holy crap, everything came out buttery smooth! Thank the car gods :).

I have to plan my attack now, this is the fun part. Replacement fuel line, pump rewire, access panel, etc. Not bored anymore ;).

Picked up some generic fittings to make my bulkhead fuel feed/return pipes. I was hesitant to cut up my stock fuel pump holder...but then I realized it was already ruined. Tonight will be fun, and this car will NEVER have fuel issues in the future ;). I'm also going to relocate the fuel pump wiring to the top of the tank, instead of running out of the rear floor. Of course, the grommet held water and now I have more holes to fix, sigh.

If this car doesn't pass the safety for some ridiculous structural reason...I'm going to have a fit, lol. I've put so much new metal into this beetch...

As soon as this stuff shows up, I can finish my walbro install...

OEM GM in-tank reticulated hose :).

Right now, my install is as nice as I can possibly make it, but I refuse to worry about a kinked hose. I also have a 10ga walbro connector on the way so I can rewire right to the pump.

Ok, this stuff is cool. It's thicker than I expected, but really tough. That's a pretty tight radius on the bend, and it didn't kink at all.

www.Racetronix.biz earns a BIG thumbs up from me. That's one-day shipping :).

In my fuel tank, for the Walbro install. I have the Colt GT Turbo fuel bracket, and it places the pump waaaaaay out of line with the outlet tube of the hanger. I can't rotate my pump because the bracket only allows for one installation orientation. I need a very tight bend, and regular fuel hose would kink fast. This OE stuff is awesome, and completely fuel safe. Heat up the ends, slip them on, and then clamp. No fuss, no muss :).

I'll have pics tonight, for sure.

All done :).
I've swapped the feed/return, to make my life easier. This GM hose is kick ass, and it is a VERY tight fit, so it won't leak. Not a single kink either.

I'm currently waiting for the silicone (gas-safe) to dry on the wiring cover, and then I can put it in the gas tank and test fire it. I'll be doing the re-wire too, got a spool of 10ga and a 30amp relay/pigtail ready to go.

Anybody else have a colt that now has the double-din cassette deck w/equalizer (and aux jack!)? Freebie from a buddy who was scrapping a Galant he bought to part out.

Image

Also got a few other things. A mitsu grille diamond, hatch badge, and a genuine HKS SSQV. I had one on my Scummit, and will be putting this one on my Colt. They've gotten a bad rap, and I think it's just because so many people ended up with the fake ones. I never had any issues with mine, and the ricer in me loooooooooooooooved the sound, lol.

Try to ignore how dirty my interior is. I still haven't cleaned it :(.

8 hours of obsessive cleaning :). Walbro installed and working great. I had initially over tightened the clamp at the pump, so the relief valve was wide open. A bit of loosening and everything was a-ok :).
