even f5m33's have km210 cast into them. it will be on the tag on top of the bellhousing.

I've got an 89 mirage turbo and the diff went out on my yesterday, any advice on what transmission will bolt up in there without a whole lot of modification, doesn't have to be identical I just need to get the car rolling again, its getting the 63t swap done this winter. I've searched and am still confused. Thanks
Josh

The orginal km210 in the race 89 colt 4g63/HTA 68 died a quick death due to the diff pin flying out of the carrier and wore a sdlot in the transaxle housing. Stupid mitsubishi decided that just pressing them in was "enough" to hold it in. Ooos, bad decision mitsu.... That tranny made it 185 000 km's before the pin killed it. The car now runs a 1g tsi tranny which has KM210 stamped on the bottom of it but its from a 1gb 92 car so supposudly they are stronger then the 1989/1990 trannys.

The one in my white 89 GT has 385 000 km's and its still going strog abit a leaking shift shaft seal and a slightly grindy 3rd gear. I have raced it and put 17psi of. Boost through it. I imagine it will hold up for many more km's too.

Sounds like you had some bad luck.... That's a risk u take I guess when dealing with used parts

I'm my 93 colt 4g63 swap I ran the 4g15 5-speed trans and running 18psi on the 14b I destroyed 5 complete transmissions. Usually the bearings would wear out on them within 5000km's of hard driving/ racing. The last one actually shattered one of the hub/sliders into pieces and blew a huge hole in the bottom of tranny and sent pieces flying everywhere. I m now in the process of swapping in a hydro 2g fwd turbo dsm tranny. That should hold up much better.
