should i get a different ecm , fuel rail , injectors , or all of it????

4g63t MAF on an 8v 4g15 with no ANYTHING?

Now that's the oddest thing I've heard all week, don't expect the car to run well, if at all.

You should probably upgrade(downgrade, whatever haha) to the 4g37 injectors, MAF, and ECU, and the throttlebody if you can get your hands on one. I'm running the MAF, ECU and injectors, but getting ahold of a 4g37 throttle body seems to be harder than swapping an engine. :-?

But enough rambling, reply back your thoughts and strategies, and we'll work it all out!

First off that MAF plug is different it won't plug and play you need to make a turbo to non turbo MAF adaptor and second off it will make your car run terrible. Don't do it.

I'm not even sure the 8 valve would benefit as much with the 4g37 items. Do some major head porting and swap the 12 valve manifolds and then you may get some good gains. the 8 valve has some seriously small ports! I guess its good for making decent torque lower in the rpm range, but torque at higher rpm is better as you can take advantage of gearing.
But then who knows? If you have access to the parts try it out and let us know. Most all the 4g15 mods have been through experimentation by forum members. (Ive done my fair share  )

the plugs are not at all different . the turbocharged mafs i have seen all look the same (externally) as the one my car came with . you know the air can thing .
anyways ....
the screen looking thing is the same however , the bypass tube on the standard 4g15 has one blocked off and it is about half the size . the car runs like shit when i leave the bypass tube open but if i close one of the 2 tubes halfway (on the eclipse maf) the car runs better and it doesnt send too much fuel through ...
for those of you that do not belive that ia m telling you the truth feel free to look in my garage .

Then if the plug is the same you have a NT MAF turbo MAFs are 8 pin connector NT are 6 pin sam as a 4g15 and of course if you do not add the supporting mods for the MAF (ECU, TB, Injectors) it willl run like garbage it has been covered before.

1.5, 1,8sohc, 2.0sohc, all use the same MAF with the 1.5 having a bypass tube plugged. The 2.0DOHC NA and Turbo use the same style which is slightly different than the SOHC versions. Most notably, the addition of the larger honey comb and bigger bypass tubes. It is possible that the turbo MAF will output a similar signal range but chances are that you'll need the huge injectors and ECU to make it work.(Like the 4g37 setup)Not worth it because the 4g15 just wont suck enough air to warrant that big an airflow meter. It would be just as easy to swap a map based system.
