The story on this car goes back about 15 year when a buddy of mine bought this car for 600 dollars. It had the compressor wheel of the turbo removed and the turbine wheel had broken into 100 pieces and was sitting in the cat.. It was although someone had lived in the car for years (no joke) and was in rough shape..So my buddy decided to swap in a 92 6 bolt 4g63 and build it to his liking and it was daily driven until the clutch disc broke and rendered the car undriveable. It sat for about 6 years and he pulled parts off of it slowly but surely to keep his talon on the road.

I ended up buying the car earlier this year and have been SLOWLY returning it to its glory. I had to replace the transmission after not being able to get cases apart (bearing seized to input shaft) and a bunch or other odds and ends..Here it is as it sits..My end goal it to make the car 150mph capable in the 1/4 and an AWD swap possibly if I can find someone to do it for me (have donor car)..

1989 Original turbo Mirage
Gutted interior (not by me) from front seats back
est weight 2300lb
6 bolt 4g63
92 FWD K5M33 transmission, cables, and cable brackets
3 inch turbo back exhaust
MHI 16g and 2g ex manifold with larger flapper
Spearco air to air fmic
90 OFH with oil cooler (braided lines and earls fittings)
KYB AGX and ground control from a GSX (rides like crap)
GVR4 knuckles and brakes in the front
Supra fuel pump rewired to relay
Profec B boost control mounted in cubby
Apexi AFC (zero'd out) and GM 3inch MAFT (zero'd out)
91 EPROM ecu with ECMLINK V2
Hacked/broken instrument cluster from NA car

Plans are in short term to replace all of the intercooler system and piping, upgrade to Link V3, and fix a ton of little stuff. I just started driving it around about a week or two ago very short distances. I ordered a set of new tires and will be getting it inspected soon, tuning it on the dyno then taking it to the track..

Nice! This thing looks familiar, was the previous owner a member on here at some point?

This specific car was not owned by any forum member here, but was in our circle of friends, some of whom are/were members here..

Very cool.

Get a harness bar in there- they are dangerous like that without the bar

Did a quick tune on the dyno after installing new tires and alignment.. The car still needs alot of love but i wanted to make sure it was safe to boost.. There is a boost creep issue so i just turned up boost controller to match it lol.. this was 22psi on a small 16g, dyno is a mustang so numbers dont come easy.

Good day sir. If I may ask, where did you get the roof spoiler, lip and side skirt? Thanks sir.

All USDM and Canadian model C53a turbo type hatchbacks, came with the front lip spoiler, lower rocker side skirts (not door or dog bone rear arch/front arch mounted), and the trunk upper mounted spoiler. Only exterior changes would have been rim options and body color mouldings depending upon what option group was purchased. I think Canadian models mainly came with aluminum wheels (not steel rims), and body color side wrap around mouldings w/pinstriping inset. The USDM models I have catalogued, have far more instances of steel rims and black wraparound mouldings.

I am currently in the middle of getting the car ready to suitable for 1/4 operation within the next 2 weeks hopefully. Heres what I have changed since last update..

*FP cast manifold
*FP Red turbo internal gate (creeps to 25psi with WGA fully open and VTA)
*JMF tubular 02 housing dump
*SS304 custom IC piping
*aftermarket 1g dsm intercooler (unknown cheap china)
*Tial BOV
*ECMtuning V3 running SD w omni 4bar
*New used cluster and rewired a ton of crappy wiring with 90 tach interface (tach works now)
*1g DSM front bumper cover with turbo lip (only way fmic would fit)
* Innovate WB02 and gauge using narrowband simulation in link v3

I am currently finishing up the timing belt install with all new waterpump, pulleys and tensioner. VC and oilpan gaskets, fuel filter, thermostat as well.

I also have some FIC1250's to install, prothane motor mounts for all 4 sides, and then I just need to buy slicks for the 15x7+40 rota slipstreams I just ordered..

I was thinking of MT 24.5x8x15.. Any suggestions? (edit) I bought the 24.5x8x15
