I'm thinking of letting go of my Mirage. First off there is an engine noise that has developed. I'm happy to go into details for those interested but I have a feeling it may be a rod bearing starting to go. It can only be heard at specific rpms while driving. Car runs and drives perfect. Could be relatively simple but i'm considering getting out of things all together and cutting my losses. Just noticed the noise this weekend and have not driven it since looking into the noise. I have not pulled the pan yet to inspect.
With that in mind here's the good stuff:
92 Mitsubishi Mirage GS sedan. Rumored to be less than 500 produced making it rarer than the factory 89 turbo Colts & Mirages. Originally came with an n/t 4G61 1.6 DOHC, four wheel disc brakes, black and red gt trim, 92 only clear signal taillights, bolstered turbo seats with unique upholstery, 7000rpm tach cluster.
The paint is in very good condition for the age, couple scratches, one small dent under the taillight, left rear rocker is rusting but not noticeable unless you look underneath
Chassis:
-188k miles
-Heat and AC system removed, no power steering, no wipers, no stereo, no carpet or sound deadening, front and rear crash bars removed, trunk gutted. Still retains factory dash, door panels, and seats. Car weighs 2255 lbs
-Autometer 45psi boost gauge, digital coolant temp gauge
-KYB GR2 struts, newer rears, cut 1G awd rear springs
-Galant GSX wheels with 8mm spacers and worn 225/50/15 BFG Drag radials up front, 195/50/15 Hankook ventus tires at the rear

-ARP headstuds
-HKS 264/272 cams with AEM cam gears
-10AN crankcase vents to vented catch can

-ACT lightweight flywheel, ACT 2100 pressure plate, ACT 6-puck unsprung disc
-Custom solid front motor mount
-Slicks also available. Drag dr27 15x7 et0 14.5lbs with 24.5x8x15 M/T ET Drags
The car made 445whp/420wtq at 29-30psi on Force Engineering's mustang dyno. Safe tune with only 12 degrees timing. Didn't push it much more being that it has stock rod bolts. The car traps 125MPH, easily a mid 11 second car on slicks. Only tried the slicks a couple times and never made a clean pass. Will spin the tires clear through third on drag radials on the street.
All things considered i'd be asking
$2,000 OBO in its current condition. I know I could part it out for more but I really don't want to do that for a numer of reasons. If interested please e-mail me at
tsbeaz@gmail.com. I have had virtually every single nut and bolt apart on this car and can answer any question you would have. I'm probably forgetting some little things but most of the important stuff is listed.
