The stock km210 threw the diff pin out...

Now there is a 1G DSM F5M33 (KM210) FWD transaxle in there. Seems to be holding up so far.

Well took the HTA68 Turbo Colt to the dyno today. (Dynocom Dyno)

Ended up with 381 WHP and 353 TQ. @ 28-29 psi. 19 deg's of timing max advance, no knock.....Car ran perfect, only popped the dipstick out and sprayed oil everywhere once till we tied it down lol.

SUPER happy with the results. After all that work and not getting results last year due to the leaking/opening crushed 1g BOV..(it only made 260 WHP (mustang dyno) last year @24 psi), it was good to put down some good numbers.

The dyno sheet:
Image

Car made 310 HP @ 24 psi also before we turned the boost up.

We could not get the boost any higher then 28-29 psi. I intended for 30-32 psi but i imagine the flapper (stock wastegate) was getting blown open at those boost levels. Im thinking maybe of a way to keep it closed better @ 30-32 psi. Or it could just be the stock tdo5h evo III hotside maxing out... either one. also running a 3 bar MAP so 30-32 psi might be pushing out of the voltage range of the MAP sensor. might have to upgrade to a 3.5 or 4 bar.

All the specs for the build is in the picture galler under my black turbo colt post. Still on the junkyard 6 bolt engine that had a siezed/rusted up cylinder last year and i worked it back/forth till it freed up lol... It only smoked blue for a little bit and i think the rings re-sealed properly now. hahaha

That's awesome! There's a local guy here making 440whp on a 2g AWD with that turbo, and like 390 lb/ft on E85. I'm not sure how much he's boosting. Try removing the wastegate altogether and see what happens! 8)

i wonder if i disconnected the wastegate diaphram... and wired the flapper shut if it would hit 30-32 psi... or if it would go past those boost levels and spool to 35+ psi... dont need that much!! Anyone ever tried welding/wiring the flapper shut and do some WOT pulls???

A buddy of mine did this with a FP3065 setup on his car. It would spike to about 42psi and fall off to like 37psi by redline. Of course, he had a built motor and everything, so it was no big deal. He had the dyno record for a 3065 on a 2g AWD for a while, it made just over 600whp.

I would try it on your junkyard block, but I might consider installing some better head studs first. 8)

I know one guy who put down almost 700whp on a FEL-PRO stock-replacement cork head gasket. I think you'll be fine. Don't let it detonate.

Well it blew up...quite spectacularly! Did it at 5500 rpm in 3rd gear on a 1/4 mile pass.

oh well it was a $200 junkyard engine that siezed up do to rust last year before i "resected it". Im impressed it made it this far lol.

Brendan has a freshly rebuilt 6 bolt w/ 2g pistons sitting waiting to go in.... so the time has come i guess!

Alot easier to swallow when its just a stock 6 bolt. The cams, L19 Headstuds and HTA68 should all still be OK...

We are hoping that pieces or anything didnt go through the turbo.... (the most exspensive part!!). I pulled the spark plug in cylinder #1 which was bashed by the free moving piston.... but i didnt see any pieces of piston or valve that had made it into the combustion chamber. It seems the rod separated from the piston... or the piston pin came out of the piston The rod is still bolted to the crank. Ill post up more carnage pics once i get the engine out and pan off.

I looked at the dataloggs during the run... everything looked good.... no knock whatsoever till a split second before it blew the datalogger went from 0 counts.... to a solid 43 counts and then boom. Im sure the solid 43 counts of knock right before she blew is from the rod coming apart....Not from detonation.....The boost was solid, did not over boost (held a solid 28 psi before she blew).

Pretty much just a tired old motor let go... it was bound to happen making 381WHP... and i sorta glad it went out with a BANG instead of slowly dying or being injured...haha
