Well if I can help it, the motor will go back home tomorrow afternoon. With that said, Today I got a lot done. Thanks to John from REVSHIFT for everything he has helped me out with in the past few weeks.
Anyways on to the good stuff. My fuel pump in the stock mounting location was way too low to the bottom of the fuel tank for my liking. I contacted John about making a spacer to go between the sending unit, and the tank to raise up the pump a little bit, we used 3/8" and it worked out great, that should give me more than enough clearance from the bottom of the tank to the sock.
I didn't take a picture of the finished piece yet but here's basically what it looks like.
Also, I cut the timing side motor mount for a cleaner look, so I modified the front power steering pump mounting bracket as well. Here's a quick before and after, you get the idea.
Fun stuff there.
I didn't think to take pictures of this, but today I went to take off the banjo bolt from my fuel filter, well the banjo was rusted on the fitting so good that it just kept spinning the filter. Eventually the top of the filter busted off. I went to Murrays and picked up a stock replacement filter for now, for roughly $18, I installed that a long with my STM Pushloc filter to rail kit. I'll get pictures of that once the motor is in.
Here's the thing I'm most excited about.

I also installed the 41.3" belt, that worked out pretty well. I need to take it back off to install my power steering belt though
It tensioned up real nice, and even has room to go further if I need to.
Here's a picture of the billet pushloc fuel rail adaptor from the STM kit
Oh I forgot, I also installed the thermostat housing, I was going to wait and paint it up to keep it looking fresh, but as with the rest of this build, performance > cosmetic.
And finally for today, I installed all new exhaust manifold studs, and copper nuts(not shown) Except for one of the top row stripped studs wont come off. I'll have to worry about that after the car is running
That's all for now.
