Update
Hokay, spent the day on the borg basically, tidying bits and pieces up etc.
Took it to the panelbeaters today for a good check up and to see if there was any structural damage etc and get a rough quote for tidying it up, realigning the bonnet and guard which are both on weird angles etc. Luckily no structural damage, but I did find out that the upper radiator support has been cut out in the past and a new one welded in.
Dodgy shite. Anyway, he quoted me $1000 to fix and realign everything, repair a dent in the pass side guard, and paint the bonnet, front bumper and two front guards. Bit pricey if you ask me? He did say though that if I was willing to do the prep work, they'd do a cashie job of $450 for the painting.
Anyway, we got home, I removed the hidious "Protect Our Rights To Hunt" sticker from the back window, and me and a mate aligned the bonnet as best we could (took a hammer to the drivers side hinge, which was slightly bent). It seems to sit straight now, but there is still a bit of a gap on both sides cos the guards arent aligning properly. But thats a job for another day...
We had a look at the radiator water, which was looking a bit rusty, so drained it out, reverse flushed, and filled with some nice new anti-freeze and clean water.
Not sure if I mentioned it before, but the drivers side window control was being retarded, the drivers side window went up and down, but the pass side one could only go up when controlling from the drivers side switch. So we pulled that apart, cleaned the contacts, put it together, all good. Another little stupid problem solved.
We decided to fit the 17" Stalkers for shits 'n giggles, just to see how high it sat, but by the time we had two on, we decided we might as well put the other two on as well
So now the Colt is sitting low on the little 14"s and the borg is way up in the air on the 17"s. Looks like a rally car
While the wheels were off I pulled the mudflaps off too, and found out there was big meaty chunks of dirt stuck in the inner guard area. After about 10 min of smacking the rear bumper and scraping the inner guard there was still crap pouring out. I think the previous owners went offroading in this thing
So yeah, got everything back together and took it for a blat round the block. I still get a stupid grin on my face taking roundabouts in 1st/2nd with foot-to-the-floor and no understeer lol.
With the mudflaps off and the car raised on 17"s, its obvious that the passenger side for some reason is sagging alot lower than the drivers side
Need new springs/shocks .... need money!!
And yeah, thats all for now, heres some piccys taken from my phone cos the digicam battery is flat...
The Colt, sitting temporarily on a half flat space saver while we were swapping wheels over, extremely low lol, could fit 4 fingers between the front bumper and the ground
My mates Mini with one of my 17" Stalkers next to it
Some of the dirt from the inner guard
Fully sick ride height mang!
Its sinking on the passenger side :|
Yes, I did have the 17"s on both sides, and yes I realise the mudflap is still there on the pass side, and no the ground isnt quite level, but you can still tell its got a pretty bad gangsta lean on the pass side.
The Borgy and the Colty. Twins. Kinda.
