You guys are going to confuse him. :D
Here you go.

Shocks and struts from tire rack.

B&G springs

I would also go forth and replace the top hats on the front and back and get new bump stops and dust boot covers.

Sooooooo.... Haven't done anything lately, besides replace the front crank seal and timing belt.

It runs okay, other than the fact that it has a very hard time starting in the cold in the morning. It also seems to be running
slower than before, or maybe I'm just noticing the 92hp now. xD. It took me some 8-10 seconds to get from 50-60 up a small
slanted hill.. hmm.

Anywho, I guess this is where I spit out my ideas of what I'm planning to do if it's possible for me, budget/knowledge wise.
  • Upgrade suspension (KYB GR2 Shocks/struts) + B&G Lowering Springs
  • Bigger breaks/5 Lug (Gotta look through the archives and figure out what I need)
  • Buy donor car (Gunna force my grandma to get rid of the junk collected in the garage to make room)
  • Gain as much knowlege as possible since I'll be doing most of it myself
  • Steal Engine, mounts, trans, wiring harness + whatever else
  • Rebuild?
Basically all I think about, so I'd really like to do it.

If anyone has comments, advice, whatever let me know. I'd appreciate it all, thanks!

-Zach

Latest picture of the car, taken yesterday. Just had 20% all around with a 6" windshield strip. Lemme know what you think.

You don't want to convert everything to 5 lug. You want to install, at a minimum, the turbo sized brakes 266mm and pads, or the Elantra front brakes 258mm and pads.
Don't worry about going to twin piston brakes, as you don't have enough umph behind the engine to warrant that yet.
You will need:
better booster, 4:1 ratio turbo Colt/Mirage or 92-95 Elantra and re-use the spacer plate from the Colt/Mirage
turbo front brake calipers/brackets/pads/pad shims for bracket mounting and backing shim plates
turbo rear brakes calipers/brackets/pads/pad shims for bracket mounting and backing shim plates
turbo parking brake cables
eliminate the residual valve in the rear brake setup (if you have drums installed currently)
fabricate a left and right side bracket to hold the brake hard lines on the rear axle
brake booster hose with proper check valve - editted Aug 2014
http://www.amayama.com/search/?q=MB277029 This is the check valve as searched for the C53a Cyborg 1.6T
turbo proportioning valve
turbo master cylinder 7/8" with proper line arrangement - may match your lines at the moment and may not -I have not done the swap in this regard yet

Food for thought.

Also find out why the engine is lacking so much power, because if something is about to go wrong, money spent on the brakes will be absolutely the wrong way to go.
