Hello fellow CSM'ers.

I have been into DSM's since High School, drove this:

Since then I have moved on to performance diesel, and have built a set of compound turbos utilizing a he351ve (VGT from a 6.7L Cummins) compounded with a HX52; seen here:

And now as life has drawn full circle, I am adventuring back into DSM/CSM's, partially due to my father's success with a 1993 Talon w/ my old HX35.

I plan on purchasing a CSM of my own. Which will be rightfully equipped with the aforementioned, and wildly effective HX35.

Cheers

Yessir.

I am Benjamin Zapp, son of Jim Zapp.

I have been a bit of a prodigal son, in casper WY in the oil field. Degree'd MechE from Mines, and I have landed an office gig with a small Exploration company in Denver. So I will be moving home!

My dad doesnt know it yet, but this car will be his competition next summer, he plans on swapping a 4g mirage and racing that instead of his green talon, which is almost identical to my old 1994 green Talon shown above.

You would win hands down with a csm over a dsm, but is he is getting one, then it will be interesting. Let him know about our site here.

I know your dad has had in interesting time with his car. I think he bought a thing or two from me as well.

He was looking at a blue/green 4g mirage. Dont know if he picked it up or not, but he plans on swapping in his engine from the talon.

He must like taking the engine and transmission out, b/c I lost count how many times he has done it. I put the short block together the last time it was out...

Car made it home a week ago, made its way into the garage for a new/larger battery.

The hawker/genesis 16ep is a little tired.

Free mods completed.

Upgrade path as follows:

2g MAF
ecuLink v3
850cc w/ walbro 225hp
evo3 16g
3" exhaust
clutch
dsm SMIC w/ 2.25" inlet & 2.5" outlet
e85

11's??

One step at a time.

But it sounds like your dad is finally aware and wants to get serious. If he wants to he needs to take everything out of his dsm and put it in a CSM. Forget trying to have two cars. He could far surpass his 1g if he dropped all that in a CSM.

Worked on the sh*tpile this holiday weekend.

Basic maintenance thus far:

Fuel Filter
Plugs: NGK bpr6es
PCV valve
oil change

and gave it a bath.

Currently running at 0.8bar or ~11.5psi, and it is fun!
