I recently acquired a 1989 Eagle Summit. This vehicle had been sitting in a garage for around 12 years. The previous owner, my father-in-law couldn't fix the engine chewing up timing belts. I saw the car buried deep in his garage/shop and said, "Hey, thats a cool looking car, and its got a 4G61 in it". He said "Yeah, it looks nice, but it doesn't run, and I was never able to fix it.". A couple years later, he comes to me and says that if I can get the car running, its mine. Well, I put it off, and put it off for another year or so, then finally I decided it was time. I had to clear a pathway to the nearest bay door, about 20 feet away. I had to move so many oddities and antiques and just random crap that I nearly thought all hope was lost, but alas, 6 hours later, the path was clear. I came to this forum, and got some word from some of the guys and found out that my summit is kind of a rarity, especially in my area.
What this sedan has stock:
4G61 engine
Turbo steering wheel
Turbo gauges (145 mph/9k tach)
5 speed KM206 trans
Turbo seats
factory tacky clock

Here's what has happened:

Timing job
Timing tensioner arm replaced
All belts replaced
Battery replaced
Battery terminals replaced
Fuel tank removed and cleaned
Fuel pump replaced
Clutch fluid replaced and bled
Breaks bled

those are Nissan Z rims. Took her out for our first drive, to see how she shifts, where in the RPM range she's happiest, etc. 3rd to 4th has a very slight grind at 4k. The car starts to squat at about 70-75 mph. I'm going to have to get used to the new RPM range, and the lack of weight in the vehicle.

Thanks for fixing my pics. I had no idea how to make it work lol. just thought I'd try 4G61t.org's gallery

This car was left for dead before my in-laws bought it. It was purchased from a small junk yard outside of town. The car was scrapped because it was eating t-belts. then the guy slapped a new t-belt on and sold it to my in-laws. they got about two weeks of driving out of it, and parked it because they couldn't fix the problem. I am indeed lucky to have come across this car! All it cost me was around $200 or so in parts, and several hours of labor.
