Hello All,
My Name is Justin, I am 30 yrs old and new to this board but I've been kicking around the DSM scene awhile. I'm an admin on a local DSM board. I have a modded 91 Galant VR4..it's my baby. I just picked up a 90 Eagle Summit DL as a daily driver. It has 72k original Miles!!!!! :D

I plan on doing some small mods to the Summit.

I'm thinking I can grab some parts off the 1.8 1g DSMs, theres several of them in the local yards around here.

Hoping for close to 100hp on my tiny 8 valve.

I was thinking I would find a proper way to lower this car on to my stock GVR4 wheels.

I hate steelies.

I decided to buy the Summit because of the low mileage but also because it still feels like a DSM, and that feels like home!

Welcome to 61t! If your car really is an 8valve, you're sol on the 4g37 upgrades as the wiring is different though you are a '90, you should be a 12valve.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! :supz:

:prayer: I'm still learning. Any quick way to tell if it's an 8 or 12v engine?

I need to take some pics. I'll try to do it when I get home tonight..

:snakeman: I'm a naughty boy..posting from work.

If the distributor is on the drivers side rear of the head, it's an 8-valve.

If its directly opposite the timing components (above the transmission) its a 12-valve.

Welcome to the board!

Thanks. I am going to go look. I didn't get a chance to take pics because I had some issues with my furnace not firing. It's darn cold outside. Now that I got that all squared away. Here is a quick pic I snapped Sunday.

It's an 8v...so much for upgrades. :(

Too bad all that 4g37 stuff was only going to cost me about $30. lol.

Some of us envy the gadgets the big brother was loaded with, but it also keeps us on the straight and narrow in other respects, due to cheaper upkeep.

Is your screenname the same at galantvr4.org? I thought I recognised the nameplate.

Pretty clean! That car is begging for a drop and some nice rims. How's the interior look on it?
