I had to get something representing my son and his birth so my wife and I got similar tattoos yesterday. I wanted to get something nice that would last a lifetime so I came up with the idea to get his footprint. I got his right and my wife got his left. I got his right footprint on my left forearm and she got his left footprint on the back of her right leg. Check it out, I think he did a good job for $100 each.

This is my third tattoo. I have a full color black panther on my shoulder tearing it's way out of my skin (I'm American Indian so it's a tribal tattoo meaning the power within), this tattoo, and a mistake on my back in the form of Japanese letters standing for the meaning of the name Angel (my ex). I talked to the artist and he's drawing me up a sketch now. I'm covering it with a black devil with red eyes and red horns (it's on my right shoulder blade) and I'm putting a white angel with a gold halo and gold eyes on my left shoulder for the two signs of conscience. Also when my wife and I have our second child (which we only want two) I'm going to put his or her footprint, name, and date of birth on the same place on my right arm.
