Tyler,
It is not a standalone, it's an emulator like DSMLink that allows you to change values in the stock ECU on the fly.

The features vary between ostrich and link. Link is pretty much set in stone but if someone finds out the variables in the ecu code (like the isc control for idle that I think link has but they won't give out info on it), it can be integrated into ostrich very easily just by modding the xdf file (the map to where things are in the .bin). That and if you already have an eprom, it's only $175! :supz:

It can be used with any 24/28/32 pin chipped ecu.

If you've already got DSMlink I'd stick with it. If you've got tuning experience you'd have no problem using ostrich though.

Link uses sliders, ostrich uses actual numbers. It really comes down to whether or not you want to spend an hour to learn to use tunerpro or if you want to spend the extra $425 to be able to use sliders.

I'm using an altered bin I found digging through the net slightly modified to work with my combo. Once you set the basic things, all you have to change really is the fuel table after watching your wideband, leaning/richening at whichever rpm while watching for knock. It's a lot easier than it looks honestly. Here's a before+after of a fuel table of the stock bin (right) and the bin I'm using (left).

Laptop with usb port $?
Tunerpro R/T $free

I'll do a writeup soon, there really are no dsm specific writeups on the net about it other than a few uncompleted ones on their forums.

I'd add wideband to that shopping list too.
