On a side note, car will be winterized soon. This spring, with my PFD given to me every year by the state of Alaska, I'll get the car a new suspension, Turbo back, and new clutch. 8)

No Lasers were ever produced in AWD in 90, 91, or 94.
They did make the laser AWD in 94 its just super, super rare.

The problem with wikipedia is, anyone can edit it, so you really have no way of knowing if that information is correct or not.

The stock clutch is on its way out. Got some suspension stuff for it though. Hopefully on next weekend. GR-2's all around with Eibach Pro-kits. Also some Redline MTL synthetic for the tranny, it cleaned up the shifts. I also picked up some 1G 2 piston calipers for it. Going to clean and paint them up.

It's been really wet here this summer so the motivation is really down there to work on stuff, haha. Oh well, no worries!

If I remember correctly, All 1g's and possibly 2g's came from the factory with the GR-2's.

I also run Redline, but I mixed 2 quarts of MTL, then I top it off with MT-90 unless it starts to overflow. :).

No cars came from the factory with GR2's. GR2's are KYB's OEM "replacement" line of shocks. It's true that 1g's and 2g's came with KYB shocks from the factory, but they are not the same thing as GR2's. GR2's are built to be about 10-20% stiffer than the OEM shock to make up for the fact that the car probably has high miles and worn-out bushings.

Haha, that's what I did, but I did only 1 of MTL and the other two were MT90.

And the GR-2's with upgraded springs worked well on my old Summit cost/performance-wise, so I think they'll work well.

actually, I might have used that mixture as well, I can't remember to be honest. I need to find the receipt though because the local speed shop went out of business and now I'll be buying that cocktail elsewhere, need to know what to tell the guy lol.

Well my tri-yearly update has come about for my car...this year I was a pathetic owner, and I blew my summer 2010 car budget on outdoor gear, like new skis, a new tent and a new mountainbike. But, I'm super pumped about my purchases, so no regrets there. :partyman: And I even managed to put almost 3,000 miles on her before she gets parked again for the winter. I wanted to get at least a new exhaust and intercooler this year, but I guess there's always next year. It's going to start dumping snow any day now, it's almost past the treeline on the mountains here, so she's getting parked but I might try and take it into the shop for some mods this winter if the money's coming in. I went back to school full time :supz:

However, the summer wasn't a total loss as I did manage to get my god damned struts and springs replaced, along with a assortment of other random suspsension parts that wouldn't come off and had to be tracked down and replaced. Turns out this was the original 21 year old suspension. In Alaskan winters. Imagine the fun taking it apart, so joyous.

So, I doubt there will be anything to report about here for a while. However, I did manage to take ONE picture this summer! It was really nice too, but the location sucks. All the scenery around here, and I pick in front of my friends trailer.

Well, she is totaled now. Some lady in a Ford Excursion took me out, no injuries though. Kind of a bummer too, it was a great summer driver, and the engine was running like a dream. I'd spent the last year or so fixing all the small things on it that reminded you of a 25 year old car (all new handles/locks, door/hatch seals, new wiper linkage, small kinks here and there). I guess it's okay it happened when it did, as I was getting ready to dump a good chunk of money on the motor after I'd gotten everything small fixed. Life goes on...

On another note, I've been saving my money for a new project and have been searching the West Coast for a "fun car". I'd absolutely love a DSM/CSM because of my parts collection and general knowledge of the rigs, but I'm they are getting harder to find in the Pacific Northwest. Leaning towards LS1/LT1, fox body, SVT Lightning, S4, some turbo Subaru; basically anything mildly quick and fun to work on. Wish me luck!

I'm really leaning towards picking this thing up. I know it's a tad expensive, but it's identical to the one I had (red) and AWD to boot. Plus, who can resist a 57,000 original mile DSM?
