Sounds like your oil snorkel went dry :o . I know the 4g63 is classic for autocross cornering sump loss issues. What have you done to prevent this with your 1.5....what have you done to prevent this with your new motor? My suggestion is ether change over to dry sump or weld in some baffles.

so, i took the top end off the 4G63NA that i had sitting out back, had some rust where it shouldn't be, so i've opted to wait on that. going to rebuild it, put some goodies in it, see if i can get some better power out of it.

so in lieu of putting that engine in my car, i instead took a couple days, and with the help of my friend, and my old man, pulled the engine out of one of my spare cars, and put it into the summit.

so it runs again.
finally.
sure, it's still a 4G15, but it's better than '1. rev to 2k, 2. shift, 3. repeat from step one".

and i didn't realize how much i actually missed driving this car until i started it up. had a smile on my face for hours after bootin' home in it.

i'll dig some pictures up tomorrow once i've had a chance to wash the car.

so my vacation pay and HST cheque paid to have the rest of my JDM kit sent from turboshawn, and the leftover money was enough to buy some shiny bits :p

so here's some pictures of said clean running car with new shiny bits

Revolution 13x7 +25 competition wheels, originally sold in the late 80s for the Honda-Michelin race series. i bought them unused still in the original boxes for 325$ :D

and yes, the lug-nuts are on backwards. the rims actually take an M19 heavy-duty stud, but i really didn't feel like buying 16 new studs, and re-drilling my hubs and rotors just so these rims, and only these rims, would fit. so i had a local machine shop make a set of aluminum adaptors/inserts that slid into the rim to bring the stud size down to an M12. but they're flat-topped inserts, so i flipped a set of stock lugs over :p

was all proud of how 'shiny' the car was, then some dipshit did this one night, walked by and sprayed orange paint on my trunk :(
Image

and a quick picture of the Mitsubishi farm :p

1992 Summit sedan, 1990 Colt sedan, 1991 Vista wagon, 1993 Colt coupe, and there's a 1991 Colt hatchback hiding behind the Vista.
there's one more, but Shannon's 1992 Stealth R/T TT isn't home yet.

I bet you could get that paint off by buffing, sense the surface wasn't prepped it shouldn't stick very well.

it'll be sexier once it's got those bumpers and sideskirts on it ;)
and as much as i'd like to find whoever put that paint on my car, as long as it comes off, no hard feelings.

who said they were happy :p
really though, we know the people on one side very well, and the other side is a rental property, from which i rent the cement laneway my car is parked in :D

I love it! I was curious to know what my car would look like if I washed and waxed it, and now I do lol. When you get the JDM goodies on, I want pics, cuz I was thinking about some JDM styling.

short list of stuff happening, hopefully tomorrow if the weather is nice:
-drop my turbo front seats off to be reupholstered
-fix my intermittent front headlights
-sand and paint my new rust-free hood
-sort of going two-tone with the car, nothing fancy, just gloss black up top, and satin black below the trim line.
-install foglights on my awesome new front bumper
-install said awesome bumper along with the rest of the bits from my JDM kit!

I am diggin' it! And since you posted pics of your wheel setup I am sure that the 16x7.5 et35 wheels I'm ordering will be perfect (after maybe a 5mm spacer up front and 10mm in the rear :P ).

sounds good already, glad to see more people going for the flush look with our cars.

and you may not want to use the spacers at all. my setup rubs HARD out back where it sits, and yours without spacers should sit a half cm or so further in, just enough hopefully to not rub.

but if you don't care about rubbing, 5mm spacers front and rear, that'll put the edge of the tires right even with the edge of the fenders :D

and what is dedication you might ask? dedication is working in the pouring rain(no garage) way into the night(it was 10:30 when gawkers started passing out and we weren't done) while removing a 50lb front bumper assembly to replace it with a lightweight JDM equivalent :p

on the bright side, it turned out that i had the OEM brackets that everyone was ogling in the 'how do you mount your JDM bumper' thread, so after the old one was off, install was pretty easy.

going to go outside in the rain now and get my sideskirts put on, and if i have time before noon, put the rear bumper on too.

I really want to run a stretch, but with a 7.5" wheel that would mean something like a 195 series tire and that is just a waste of time. My car will be AWD after winter and I'll probably just run a 205/50 or 205/45 and call it a day.

it's recommended you put a 205 or 215 on a 7.5" rim. so there'd be next to no stretch on a 195 on said rim :( to get any kind of real stretch you'd be looking for euro tires, something like a 175 or 165 with a low profile. thought about suggesting 185s, but i saw a picture of a 185 stretched onto an 8" rim, didn't look good, at all.

also! work in progress O:

Man, I really dig this car. Some fresh paint on that bumper and you're in business!
