About
22/m/saginaw, mi. i'm married and work as a structural engineer. i'm in to cars, racing, engines, etc. i also like guns, fire, music, food, outdoors, video games, movies, and my wife.

i got my feet wet with DSMs. i'm on my third 1st gen and i've rebuit 4g63's at least a half-dozen times. i've even dabbled in the g4cs a bit.
i moved on to s13's after that and became familiar with the ka24de as well as the ca18det. i don't have nearly as much experience with the nissan engines, but i really love them.
right now i'm driving a geo prizm and a nissan pathfinder. i'm looking to pick up a csm hatch - would really love a 4th gen, but that's not going to happen so i'm going to settle for a 3rd gen.

Engine/Suspension/MISC Mods
[redneck_voice]i aint got no csm, so i aint got no mods[/redneck_voice]

Future Stuff
buy a mirage, 4g63 swap of some sort i've got so many 4g63/g4cs parts laying around that i'm not sure how i want to build the engine for it - maybe g4cs shortblock with 4g63 head in n/t trim, maybe just a straight 4g63 n/t swap, maybe just leave it stock, i dont' know.

i'm planning on staying normally aspirated because this hatchy is probably going to recieve the rally treatment. i'm trying to get into rally racing and think a mirage is a good novice platform.

xceed started in the detroit area if i'm not mistaken and grew from there... either way, i think people get the idea.

there's actually only one 4g63 in that picture - the bare one. the other is a g4cs with a 4g63 head/valve cover. in the back is a vg30e and the two on the right are ca18det's. yeah, but i do have at least one other 4g63 laying around.

yeah, those 1g's are sitting a bit high - there's no engines in them... (shhh). the blue engine is now in the red 1gb though. it's one of the best running 4g63's i've ever heard/seen.

So I finally have a pair... of CSMs that is.

This thread is pretty old, but I might as well update.

I scored a pair of 92 3-doors Colt last fall. I have a blue one and a red one. Got them together for $700. Both supposedly ran, but the gearboxes were absent. I originally planned on pulling them both apart and making a good project car out of the best combination of parts from the two and scrap the excess, but with them sitting around and looking at them I've changed my mind.

The plan now is to find a temporary transmission to put one of them on the road to commute with - probably the blue one as it looks better right now. Then I'll take my N/T 4g63 DSM off the road and swap it's drivetrain into the red Colt. the 4g63 needs fresh bearings, rings, and headgasket. Then I'll stick that one on the road and start working on the blue one again. The ultimate goal is to build my g4cs frankenstien motor (2.4 DOHC) and convert the blue Colt to be AWD and toss the 2.4 in it.

Once I start working on them, I'll probably come on here more and post some pictures and progress.

Sold those last summer. Never got around to doing anything with them.

A lot has changed since I first started this thread... Heck, I'm 25 now and it's still page one.

I should change the title of this thread.
