About
Hi People,

I've been lurking for a while, done a few posts and i thought it was about time i post a few pic's on my baby.

I moved to Australia from NZ about two years ago, and since then had been looking for a VR4 Galant. But the cost of such cars here are rediculous compared to NZ. One day i happened across an importer who had my current ride gathering dust out the back. I knew exactly what it was (he didnt) quickly parted with a reasonable sum of money and took delivery a week later.

She's a 1988 JDM Mirage Cyborg Sedan with 93,000kms (58,000miles) on the clock. It seems to be almost fully option'd, with the sunroof, electric everything, all apart from the rear LSD option :( She now joins are rather elite club here, been one of only 4 AFAIK in my state, also been the only one i know of in Australia with the factory sunroof (i love that thing).

Engine Mods
- Stock Standard Motor
- 3" Mandrel Bent Exhaust

Suspension Mods
- KYB Super SR Special Shocks (unbeliviably stiff)
- Low King Springs, Rear Springs Modded

MISC Mods
- Plastic Facelift Rear Bumper
- Unknown (but facelift) Rear Lights, with Factory Tinted Upper Light
- Facelift Front Grill
- CC Shortshifter
- 17"x7" Advanti SA15's

Future Stuff
- Custom 2 Plate 4 Puck Ceramic Clutch 8)
- TRR Tubular TD05 Manifold. (i think)
- Hyper RVR HUGE 16G 8)
- SARD RRFPR
- Bosch 044 External Fuel Pump
- Locked Standard Rear Diff 8)
- Injen Intake Kit
- 055 AFM
- Surge Tank
- Tial 38mm External
- Greddy Type R BOV
- VR4 Galant Intercooler, 2" HotSide, 2.5" Cold Side
- Hyundai 1.8ltr Twin Cam Head and T/B
- Reground 272 Cams
- Single Board Eprom ECU
- Sard 720cc Twin Squirt Injectors
- Gizzmo Inteligent Boost Controller

I have most of the stuff in that list, im going to put everything on in one go. One of my previous cars spent 9 months off the road getting a rebuild and im determined not to let that happen with this.

With this turbo, im hoping to get close to 300whp, a few things are overkill, but once this motor gives up i will through a 4G63 in there so i dont want to upgrade again.

Badass.

Any idea on the amount of 4wd cyborg hatchs over there in the land down under? But that sedan is really REALLY nice.

Goddamn that car is nice. You guys get some bad ass cars down there in Aussie land. I didn't realize that the Cyborgs came in a 4-door flavor.

AFIAK, there seems to be around 20-30 4WD Lancers/Cyborgs here in the all of Oz.

:D we got some real out of it cars in NZ when i used to live there, makes australia look tame.

Here is how it works with the JDM 4WD's

4WD Turbo Hatch Back is a Lancer GSR
4WD Turbo Sedan/3 Door Hatch is a Mirage Cyborg.

Thank you. Personally i prefer the orange rear lights vs the red and whites but i seem to be alone in that opinion. What does a rust free 4wd borg usually go for?

Yea the jury is still out on the rear lights, but they have grown on me a bit.

My Borg was not quite rust free  there was a bubble starting around the sunroof. the roof, side mirrors, grill and rear bumper were resprayed two weeks ago, hopefully delay the inevitable.

I would say it would almost impossible to get a rust free Borg, there will always be a little somewhere.

I paid $7,000AUD for mine, and they seem to be going for $5,000-$11,000 depending on condition and mods.

Well if i ever get another colt, I which i dont plan on getting, it will be a 4wd Cyborg Hatch from JDM land or from Aussie land. Planning on an 04 Mazdaspeed MX5 in a few years.

I think I would trade my Galant vr4 straight up for that car! That's an awesome car!
