Since no one can claim to "live" there, has anyone else been down there? I've been to McMurdo Station and Scott Base several times. Its pretty neat down there. Not to mention staging out of Christchurch New Zealand! That's one of my favorite places on earth. |

I saw a pilot guides/globe trekker show once where a cruise ship takes people down. Some of those people actually camp in a tent overnight on Antarctica. Not too many people can say they've been there or spend the night camping there. |

Its easy. Enlist in the military. Take me actually there are a lot of job opportunities with the National Science Foundation that go there.

What branch are you and what's yer job? I'm Air Force. Been in 23yrs now, just about to retire. I work on C-17 cargo jets. We haul the NSF down to Antarctica. Cool thing about cargo aircraft is we go everywhere on the globe. |

Navy, I did ballistic missile defense....which means were either stationed of the coast of Asia or the middle east. |
