Hey guys,

Just spoke to Vicroads this morning about the conversion. They gave me a name of a engineer in Richmond. The engineer told me that if the engine is more then 10% in power then the car need to have an engineers certificate. Also if the engine was not manufactured in Australia then it needs to be certified as well. Was the 4G61T manufactured in OZ?

He also said that if you can find someone that has done the conversion and got the certified in Melbourne, I should ask them what they needed to do to get the car certified.

Ahhh - I am stuffed then I though i didnt need a cert!

Well the guy I know didnt have to do anything - he argued that it was factory (in the US) and the engineer signed off...

4g61t was not manufactured in OZ

Mike

maybe you guys need to get it all regd in sa. mine was easy hey. try to find out if, if you provide info saying that the cars were produced with this engine and brakes and so on they might take that as enough. they had the same brakes and all. all i had to do here was put in a application about the engine. when it came back all i had to do was make sure it complied to some stuff. had a cat and fuel restrictor and a few other things all stuff the car has already. from memeory the power change is 19.4% or some thing just under 20 because thats all sa takes without engineers cert. anyway good luck guys.

Switch,

Could you ask the guy you know that has this car certified for the details of the engineer that signed off on it? Would like to talk to the engineer.

The engineer I spoke to was saying that if one car has been certified then it will be easy to get any car certified with the same changes.

Ta.

Hey guys,

Not sure if this is where is should be asking this question but im going to ask it anyway.

Is the check engine light is meant to come on when you start up the car? Mine is on for about 4 sec, is that ok or is there something wrong?

Have been looking through the forum but couldn't find anything on this.
