Guys,

I would appreciate any help in sourcing a crankshaft pulley for my 89 Mirage Turbo. The part number is MD130251. None of the autopart websites have it and I've even attempted to source it from Japan but with no luck.

Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance.

Best,

Jerry

Wouldn't this be the same as any 1g/2g dsm crank pulley or is there something different on the 1.6?

They are different, the 1.6 is held on by the crank bolt.

All 4g6X crank pulleys bolt to the lower timing sprocket, with 4x 12mm head bolts. The crank bolt with the large spacer is only there to keep the sprocket from walking outwards. The woodruff key keeps the sprocket from rotating on the crank snout. I just had a gander at ASA to compare the picture to my thoughts, because my first instinct was, that they are all the same in this regard.

If a non-standard rubber insulated style is to be used, there is the fluidamper and one other silicone filled, SFI approved option. Those options add weight to the rotating mass, so maybe only consider them if you are balancing a light weight flywheel and trying to help eliminate fast RPM drop and stall (without the aid of ECMLink v3), and or RPM drop between shifts while you baby your standard Mitsubishi syncronizers on the transmission gears.

Thank you for your detailed response but are you saying that we can use 1g and 2g pulley or not?

1G yes, 2G I have never layed eyes upon. RTM Racing lists the pulleys as the following (I was in the 2G section just to see what cross-referenced as part of the search):

DSM (90-99), EVO (I-III)

If you are on this side of the border, then all of the following are options for ordering from one spot, otherwise they can be had from many distributors in the US, mainly "www.JNZtuning.net". Josh and crew are great guys to deal with, as are Ziggy and Paul at RTM.

"RTM carries four different crank pulleys:
1) OEM
2) OE-style
3) Fluidampr
4) ATI
The OE-style pulley is basically a less expensive copy of the OEM unit.
The Fluidampr and ATI units are performance-oriented dampers which are considered superior to the OEM unit and are designed for high-power/severe-duty applications."
