Is the arm bent, ball joint loose in the receiving hole or is the arm rusted badly? IF not, the ball joint is replaceable, as are the bushings.

The last arms I had, the ball joint was loose in the hole. A few tacks with the Tig torch straightened that right out.

Elantra arms may be available still, they have a bolt in ball joint too.

Elantra arms move the ball joint out further and the knuckle goes out further too as a result. You need to find matching axles left and right when you swap in Elantra lower control arms.

Wasn't someone building tubular control arms a while back?

Not that I am aware of. There was a run of them back in 2004 that PaulMezz drove with to the Canadian side meet and got to show off with his swapped NA body.

Harbor Freight makes the kit where you don't even have to remove the arm. I'm sure this and new balljoints from RA or Ebay will be cheaper than shipping on used ones. Plus hardly any down time since you won't even have to remove the arm. Not sure why I didn't think of this when you asked a few weeks back.

I have the ball joints listed in my build thread. They are used across the board on TEL and CSM, and that means maybe G/GVR4 too.

Like this kit

You may also need a properly sized pickle fork and large hammer/maul to persuade the knuckle to let the BJ go, and allow you to separate the pair.

Two shown in black are for air hammers, but there are two sizes of forks you are looking for - one of which will have the correct width to accept the BJ stud in the center, and the other will be the thickness to allow pressure on the knuckle and lower arm at the same time it is hammered in place. See the silver style for the type you need to be able to hammer in place, and realize you need to pick between the two head sizes represented by the black styles. CLICK THIS MASSIVE LINK
