thats awesome! I looked around pretty hard at cars to swap before I did my 94 AWD coupe. I choose that chassis as it was the lightest car I could find at the time. after the car was up and running and hurting peoples feelings I considered how I could build another car but get it to 2000lbs. what I came up with was the first gen VW rabbit. but really just lost interest because of lack of engine compartment size. its a real challenge making good power with limited space. |

i think the ultimate would be a mid 80s chevy sprint. they are about 1500 lbs and i know the engine doesnt fit in them no way not in the front. thats why you put it in the rear. however, i think it might be even scarier to drive than this thing |

the key to this swap was altrom ultra-8 axles from napa. i happened to aquire one and when i pulled the axle apart i noticed it has over an extra inch of slpined section, which makes it easy to shorten. i am confident they wont break i doubt cutting them weakened them much. if i ever wanted to put slicks on the car thatd be another story |

2,000 pounds and AWD is just insane. I'd love to see someone do one of these with a full-retard build just to see how much of a deathtrap it could be. |

i love doing this stuff but i dont like spending a lot of money on it. this is the perfect platform for cheapness, as the insurance costs me $10 a month and thats the reason i did this. the crazy lightweight is a bonus. |
