Did you get a grill with it? If not there is a mint one at the yard on a 4 door. Was gonna grab it for our Montero but we sold it.

Yeah, I got the grill. I think i need a skid plate, and the front mud flaps. If you come across them. Right now its under 8 inches of snow, so I'm not going to check! :)

Skid plates are a rare find for these trucks, well ones that aren't bent to hell are anyway. Pretty sure it had the flaps though. Same here with the snow :x .

I'm just going to get it running. Thsi one is a SOHC 6g72, so you could swap a DOHC one into it, or a turbo one... Many are 2.6 4 cylinder, lots of people conquest swap them...

Got this one running! ECU was bad and the distributor was 180 out. It smoked really bad on start up, and worse as it got warm. I checked the plugs and #3 was burning oil. I shot 3/4 of penetrating oil in the cylinder, let it sit overnight, and if seems to have freed up the stuck ring!

Nice score! I just got rid of my swb 89, rare blue (fiji?), 2.6 manual. I kept a few things in case I come across a nice v6 one, they are coil spring (4cyl is leaf rear) so the entire axle and arms will bolt in from the next gen (rear air locker in most SR models) I kept manual hubs and the ugly but cool bug deflector as well as a whole chrome Montero grille setup.

This thing ended up spinning rod bearing 3 and 4. Luckily I had the short block from my Mighty Max project laying around. I put together the best engine I could with the parts I had and have been driving it. It needs tires and shocks badly, and OD isn't working, but other than that I really cant complain for what I have in it!

I saw a pristine gold 2 door Montero the other day on the road. It looked so weird, you never see these things, much less a nice one. If I would have been driving I would have followed the lady and offered to buy it.
