Hello from Wisco
This all started when I found a 92 colt in Milwaukee car wasn't very clean and a few of the windows are broke out.. BUT the motor was blown and the guy was going to take $150. Got to Milwaukee (3 hour drive from LaCrosse) and the guy who I was going to buy it from flaked.
We were in Milwaukee eating dinner and a friend tagged me in an add on dsm classifieds Facebook group.
Image
It was 8 pm contacted the owner and was going to drive to Cincinnati Ohio. Another 6 hours but he needed to apply for a new tittle.
So headed back home and waited.
Tuesday the 30th after I got done with school at 2pm we left for Ohio.
Got there at about 1:30 am (they are 1 hour ahead)
Loaded up the car and headed home
Image
1142 Mile round trip.. took about 19 1/2 hours.
Image
Car is now home... have not gotten a chance to work on it.
But I did stop at a friends and pick up a bunch of goodies...
4g63 bare head
1g rear subframe/mustache bar
And some suspension components
The manfiold off of Buschur Racings Evo 8 Drag Evo -- This was the FIRST Evo in the 8's this manifold was used.
Image
I know it was originally built for an EVO BUT I got it for a good deal.
Family friends of Buschur.. My Dad was sponsored for a while when he owned The Buschur Racing Magnum.
Pic of it on a DSM

The plan:
Planning on keeping this as a sleeper.. manifold I have is going to be an issue with that though we will see
Its mostly going to be a street car at this point.. With some Autox/ice racing. Few local 300' drag races to..
AWD swap
Manual trans - if i go manual it will be air shifted
Possibly going auto...
Not sure on the bottom half yet... trying to decide what I want to do..
leaning towards going 4g64 with a 63 crank and reving it to the moon. IF I do it WILL be an auto
I hope to have this car VERY light. Dont need the torque a 2.3L stroker has...
Turbo will depend on auto/manual.. motor build
Open to ideas
Stay tuned for updates this will be my winter project.
Going to buy a mig welder soon and a few other tools...
Once it gets cold the colts coming in..
Inside my House............ LOL

Well found a long block, 4-Bolt Rear end + axles, MHI 16g no shaft play. Got it all for $500.
Picking it up all tomorrow good deal but I have to pull it all my self...

**Just realized the rear end is for an Automatic....
I did decide to go manual on the build... might still buy it and see if I can trade/Swap gears

Well started disassembling the long block I bought. Motor had a broken balance shaft belt. BUT did NOT jump timing. What a blessing.

Little bit of an update...
Finally started working on it now that it is winter!! :D
Decided what my plans are...
Going to use the vband manifold in the picture to run a small 16g turbo.. and then the 16g will be fed by a hx35 in a compound set up.
Now before anyone jumps down my throat about how there is no need for two turbos.. well guess what i have everything to do it without spending any money so its going to happen :P The v band manifold will put the 16g down to the side and there will beroom for the hx35 where the stock turbo normally is.
Car will have a stock 1993 bottom end 7 bolt
The 6 bolt i got to swap it had a spun balance shaft bearing and needs to be cleaned up... (going to build it)
I am currently gutting the car and cleaning it up.
Car is most likely getting a tubed front end... trying to decide if i want to cut it after the strut towers to make it easier.. or completely tube frame the entire thing..

I have gotten quite a bit done and hoarded a lot of parts............. (dont we all?)
Posting pictures on here is a huge pain in the butt :P any one have any recomendations on a program that automatically resizes pics? Right now there just hosted on my website at full size... need to scale them down a bit for the forum

What I have collected
93 7 bolt block
2g head
Hx35 with bep .55 ar mitsu bolt on
Sbr manifold dsm flanged with 2 bolt wastegate port
3kgt VR4 Big brake kit on a colt :o
4 bolt subframe rear end - almost in car floor pan is cut out and need to weld in the 2x2 steel bars
1g auto trans.. im doing the new filter shift kit/ and the clutches
stock converter.. Unless someone wants to donate $$ to re stall it  just ran out of $$
Im making a custom harness with a 2g harness and evo 8 ecu...
2g speed sensor in 1g trans.. all so I can run one of my custom 7" touch screen car computers
Elantra control arms/expo knuckles/dsm hubs/dsm axle is what i have for front steering set up
3g master cylinder for the big brakes
Tial bov
2g vrsf front mount kit.. doesnt fit on the colt without some "small" modifications..
Aka im chopping the front end off just like RedSleeper's build http://www.4g61t.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=35606

How big are the rotors on the 3KGT VR4 kit?

Do they fit under 17's?
Anticipating full coil-overs to make them fit?
Fenders will likely need modification if that is the case. Debow _8787 uses 16x8 +25, they push out quite some. Click
16" is about as big as you will likely want to go with our antiquated (->?) suspension setups. Stuffing tire inside these fenders is a bit of an art, but problems compound if
you aren't using Ralliart style (solid and stiffer durometer) bushings/Urethane upgrades (possible squeaks later on).
Adjustable panhard rod in the works too?

The earlier 3KGT VR4 brakes will fit inside 16's (barely), later model stuff should fit under 17's.

They are a 1g vr4.. So they may fit if captain Tonus is right.. I'll see if I can test fit something on it...
I was planning on running 17s though.
Front end is getting tubed so that should help somewhat but when I do the rear strut towers I am going to cut out the entire tower and rebuild them to make more room...
If everything still doesn't fit I will just sell the kit and go back to 1g gsx brakes.. Which i am completely okay with so if anyone's interested I will defiantly sell the kit.
