I'm a welder by trade, so please take what I say seriously....

I understand your making due with what you have at your disposal. But I honestly wouldn't use that small of a welder with flux core to weld exhaust let alone on drive line components. It's just not safe. Especially with what the cars power output will be. Also, this isn't your car which makes you liable.

Again these are just kind words of caution. No insults of any kind are intended.

I understand your concern but I'm not following you on why you think it isn't safe. The welder I'm using has plenty enough power for what I'm welding. There is plenty of penetration, I tested it before I started using it. From what I've read flux is no weaker (mainly used for outside/dirty welding) than a welder with shielding gas. I also assembled my mirage using the same style welder with flux core wire and had zero problems with over 400whp. I'm not a welder by trade but I do have welding experience and have a good idea of what I'm doing.

The pictures make the welds look sketchy. I just wanted to point it out and make you aware of it. But if you feel comfortable with it than that's all that counts. Just looking out for your well being.

Btw...your now amoung us csm gods! :drinkers:

Woot for being a csm god! :finga:

Thanks for looking out, I'm make sure to keep an eye on the welds. They are ugly as all get out but have been looking good when checking the backside for penetration.

I got the rear carrier bearing welded in aside from the cosmetic stuff and moved on to tackling the rear strut mounts/wheel wells.

I used a the dsm strut mount and part of the mirage top to get the spacing where it needs to be. I used some guestimating and playing around to get the height. Yes, guesimating. lol It will have very close 3 fingers of clearance between the tire and outer fender well with stock dsm suspension.

Both strut mount/wheel wells are done now. Not much left to do, it's coming together nicely.

Back from the dead. So the build stalled out a while back due to a new job, new baby and very busy life in general. I also had an issue with the suspension not being exactly the same height wise and wanted to get everything remeasured. Well to do that well and make me comfortable, I wanted to get her on a lift.

Fast forward to now, a very good friend was able to let me use a lift. 2 and a half days later, we have a mirage with a fully installed rear end and driveshaft and a motor reassembled. There is still a good amount of work left to get it back running but the fab work aside from front motor mount, is done!

Pictures to come.

That's OK, it's not being built to look pretty or make you happy. It's being built to have fun in and go fast. Both of which should be no problem.

Both of my GTs don't, and a third one I had didn't either. I know it's an option but seems to be uncommon.

edit: Turbo models.

I've seen GT that have nothing more than a sticker and power steering on them compared to a base car 1.5l car.

Nice to see that you're making progress again fastgsx! What tank are you planning on using?

He's going to use a fuel cell with external pump for now. Pretty simple setup.

Here are a couple pictures as promised.

My GT turbo Plymouth does not have power windows.

My other GT NA 1.5 did not have power windows.

I believe it was part of an option group or stand alone upgrade.

I can't tell you what car got what based on option codes, just yet.
