It hit 65 here in Indy on Saturday (it is 25 as I type this), so we did some work!

Dropped the tranny on the Colt and found the reason for my shifting woes (I hope). A crappy 6-puck that seems small for a 4g63t, and was worn. Plus, the TOB was chattering away, put in a new one. So, I installed a stocker to use until I buy an ACT 2100 or 2600 with a new flywheel. I also swapped out the badly crushed BOV it cam with for an uncrushed one to test.

Here is to hoping I can get her over 9lbs of boost!!
nice find!
sorry i couldn't get up to lend a hand.
hope it fixed your issues.

Spent some time Saturday installing my Hallman MBC with remote attachment abd my SAFC-II in the colt. That required me to relocate the boost gauge to the center console. Upon removal if the shifter console, I found the below aftermarket shift lever (SCORE!!!!). Not sure who makes it, but it definitely ain't stock.

It was a little loose (looks like it might need a few new bushings), but tightened up nicely.

As for the SAFC-II, I could see this used to have one as all the connections were already there, easy solder job. Idles much nicer now. Once I can figure out why the A/Fr goes to 10-1 on cold start and idles @ 2300rpm and slowly drops to 800 as it warms up, I will be very happy.

Decided to finally give the Cooling system a good cleansing. I have been living with the Chocolate shake that rises to the top of the overflow, emptying it out every three days. But, I decided to give the system a good flush as it has been running with this since I bought it in October with a lifted head. Plus I plan on installing my new Scirocco radiator soon.

Here is a complete drain of the cooling system:

Here it is after the First prestone super-flush:

The final flush after this was crystal clear!!

I also installed my AutoMeter oil pressure gauge. Seems I have amazing oil pressure considering I still have the BS's installed.

@ Idle (900 rpm)

@ 75mph (3400 rpm)

very nice.. yeah that prestone super flush works great.. and the oil pressure.. was that cold or warmed up to temp? thats about right for cold...should be about 25 at idle once fully warmed up..

and I love ur gauge tape. I did the same thing till i finally mounted it.

That is all at operating temp (my idle is 2300rpm cold), so it is 25 at hot idle. Yea, the wb is in a gauge mount, the op gauge is held in place with a zip tie lol

Thanks for keeping her around man. This was originally my car for those that don't know. I was the first one to build this car. I got it from my grandfather who was the original owner. When I sold it, it had 64,000 miles on it with a 63T swap. I would give one of my nuts for it. But it makes me feel so much better to see that someone is caring for it and loving it as much as I once did. Good job bro.

Thanks alot. I drove the car with that mess in the cooling system since October, but it NEVER got anywhere over normal operating temp, never ran bad. Not sure what causes the 2300 rpm cold idle (when it starts up, it is at about 1200rpm and lean, but you can watch the WB slowly move to 10 while the RPM's climb to 2300, then as it warms, it starts to RPM's start to go down and the afr's rise until it idles @ 900 and afr's are @ 15.1. I have changed out the coolant temp sensor, but it didn't change anything.

Other than that, it runs like a champ. FMIC, a replacement 16g and a new tranny with LSD are in it's very near future, and some track time this summer.

You know what? It did that when I first swapped it as well. It would idle really high when you first started it then after it warmed up it would idle at 750. Weird. Maybe its in the harness somewhere. If you ever get a chance, check out my bids on YouTube. My user name is 89d15crx. There are videos of when I swapped that car with a 61T with a 14b and other bids of when I swapped the 63T. I miss it so much. You know exactly who to hit up if you ever decide that you've had enough...lol

Seriously bud, good work. She looks great and I couldn't be happier with where she is now. You are taking care of it like I never could. It always came down to budget for me. I just couldn't afford it anymore.

They call them a "filler panel" and about the only place that you'll find them is here in the classifieds. You'll be lucky to even find a Colt in any junk yard.

Sometimes you gotts look in the obscure junkyards. Rob (riceless90) has found a couple in junkyards in Indiana. Plus he found 4 or 5 in a junkyard around Casey, IL.

Broke out the tools on the Colt Saturday:

Off/out came:
DSM Radiator
Old radiator hoses
Stock SMIC and rubber hosing
Greddy Trust Recirculated BOV
Dying 12" fan (it would not free spin)
Stock intake with GM-Maf bolted to the end

On/in went:
88 Scirocco Radiator (Mounts flush between upper and lower radiator supports. Clean look and allows for FMIC piping)
New stock DSM radiator hoses
FMIC and Piping
Home-made 3" intake
Greddy Type RS BOV
Gm-Maf in blow through mode
2g TB intake.

At least now it looks like it should have. I would like to thank SiliconeIntakes.com for the $35 intake that works awesome on the 16g.

Looks real good. I think that I'm starting to get the itch again. Unfortunately, its an itch that I can't scratch right now until I get some work done on my truck.
