I talked to ECMtuning and they asked if the board was the lowest point of the harness. They think water ran down the wires and got in. Also, we both know how often Rob drove it in the rain....never. I drove it in the rain for 3 days when I first got it as I was to excited to let it sit in the garage.

I got the Tien 1.2in lowering springs on the car last night. They basically have the same drop as the H&R but the H&R had a coil cut out. The ride raise .5inch which i was very happy with. I was not impressed by the condition of some of the strut component. I am going to order some new parts and sand and spray the seat. I might even think about new agx struts for a dsm.....Advice on this Thom. I didn't even look to see what was on it.
Found the DSMLink ECU after a big ordeal. I was trying to get the energy to put the tune on and play with the electrical timing, but that resulted in falling asleep on the couch. There is always tonight.

As for the rims I am still up in the air about them I think I will hit a few bumps and decide what I want to do. I like the rims better off the car than on the car. I like the old setup more than the new but instead thinking a set of
xxr 527 16x8.25
Still debating 17x7.5 with 215 like before or sticking with some 16x8 that stick out like currently

Also idea and want to see what anyone thinks about doing bags up front use dr2 awd 1g dsm kit with a standard bag in rear. I am just looking for opinions and feelings will not be hurt.

The new wheel/tire setup looks awesome! I thought +25 offset wheels stuck out quite a bit but these don't look like they do. Maybe its the angle of the pics.
Oh they stick out. I will try and get some shots of this. I was getting close to having to roll and flare fenders and become hella flush. With the new springs I think I can get away with more.
I might do bags all the way around. The original idea was for bags in the rear as it would allow for adjustable height in the rear as I am having trouble finding a good option for springs in the rear.

Any Ideas on what do to?
So after the Tien Springs settled the car is sitting too low again for the rims. The thing that ticks me off is the Tien where suppose to be less drop than the H&R. The summit sits at the same height with the cut H&R as the uncut Tien. I am calling extremepsi to see what they can do. I mean the advertise drop for Tien has to be wrong. I know they most likely will not be able to do anything but we will see. Anyone know for sure what a set of stock dsm spring ride at?
Anyone know the difference in dsm struts and summit struts? Is the spring seat at a different height?

Maybe you just need a stronger spring? The Auto is about 100lbs heavier than the maual, maybe that is making the difference. Strut part numbers are the same between the summit wagon/T/E/L

One of Jafro's videos on Youtube claims that a 3g csm strut is identical to the 1g dsm strut except the spring perch is welded on lower. According to him simply swapping a csm strut into a dsm would lower it a little. While I've never tried this or verified the info Jafro seems to know his stuff. Maybe a csm strut and the stock dsm/wagon spring would net you your desired ride height?

I made custom upper spring seats to get my Colt at the height I wanted with DSM Tein springs. I cut approximately a 2.5"-3" hole out the middle of a spare set of upper spring seats. Sanwiched them together with their uncut counterparts, then drilled four holes in them. Then I was able to bolt the cut seats under the uncut seats to make an adjustable upper spring seat. Add washers to raise, remove washers to lower.

In the rear, some brands (ahem AGX) don't even have the lower seat welded to the strut, so it's pretty easy to tap the seat off, and fashion a spacer to increase ride height.

I am grabbing a set of stock dsm springs this weekend and will get those installed to see what happens. This is kind of my last ditch effort for these rims. I was fooled last time I installed the Tien springs as Wagon sat perfect, but it settled quite a bit. I would have ordered H&R as I knew they were cut on the car currently, but extremepsi was out of stock and didn't know when the next set would come in. I am getting a fender roller ordered today as my buddy here in town keeps forgetting. I would love to be able to flare the fenders but not willing to have all that work done. So I might be buying new rims again. I am going to see if I have a POS dsm fender laying around the shop I can try and flare on the 92 half a car I have laying around. My buddy flare his fender some on his s10 with the roller and said it was not hard, but I know it was not designed for that. I am just disappointed all around.

what setup do you have in the rear as far as shock and springs?
what strut in front? can you measure the free length of dsm front spring before you install it?
pics at every juncture would be very helpful to others.

I am doing a bunch of experimentation on setting my suspension up. my car is still on the factory stuff right now but have a bunch of stuff to try in the next few weeks. cant really play yet as I am waiting on the new front struts to get here.

I was planning to explain all the front strut options as there are many.

Sadly I was suppose to get the stock dsm springs this weekend and forgot all about it.
My rear setup I am less worried about as I am going to order bags for it. They seem to be stock rear summit springs with 1 coil cut out of them. I do realize as I pivot some of the weight to the rear that the front ride height will raise.
I am going to go purchase a F-350 sometime this week so I might be back around my shop.

Well the front struts were shooooot....
I am giving it a weekend to settle and see where we are with ride height. I figured out I could space the top seat and the strut mount by .25 inch by adding harden fender washers. I don't see a problem with this and if anyone does let me know.
Well I NEED HELP. A Coworker was helping put the struts in and he let the cv knuckle come out :axe: . I thought I got it to reseat fine, but the boot rip spilling all the bearing. i found 1 in the drive and I most likely will need a replacement Passenger side front CV Axle. Anyone know where I can get one.

Anyone have access to the old mitsubishi parts catalogs?
I am looking for a rear transfer case seal for the 92 Eagle Summit AWD.
I don't have a dealer close and over the phone will almost guarantee me the wrong part.

The part number I could find only told me this is for a manual transfer case. I went ahead and order them as they were $10 from rockauto. I found the numbers via factorychryslerparts.com and obviously cross reference them to rockauto to come up with my $10 purchase. I am getting the rear seal and input seal on the transfer case.
I don't know if these are correct but are for the Manuel summit
Rear Transfer Case seal: MR983368, md701430, md701782
Input seal (seal for the transmission output): MD723202, md703735

Seals should be the same as the normal DSM xfer case seals. Also, Brian showed me a trick to remove the seal carefully and twist the spring apart at the joint, cut a few coils off and twist back together. Instant good seal, as long as the seal was still pliable.
