I plan on using an 8.8 out of a fox body so I can use my 4lug wheels. Have to change the gears to 3.31 to match the front and convert to disk brakes. Hopefully I will be able to bring my turbo mirage brakes over and build a caliper bracket. I have a few 8.8s local to me on craigslist for $150-$250.

The head is the ported 1g head with all brian crower valvetrain and brian crower 280s. The head has obx cam gears and you wrote "Garbage" on the exhaust cam :).

Hahaha the head off my gsx. My buddy built the head when he owned the car
He hates BC cams. So he wrote garbage on them. There was nothing wrong with them at all. They were bnib when he bought them.. I was wondering where that head went

did you know that the pistons were on wrong. the bigger valve reliefs are on the intake side. what piston to cylinder wall clearance are you running? I find that anything tighter than .005" will cause major scuffing and rob power majorly. I runs .007" of clearance on my engine.

That makes sense with the pistons. I paid to have the motor assembled at a machine shop, next motor I plan on assembling. I don't know what clearance they used. I will do my research before on piston to wall and ring gaps before the new pistons go in.

Plans changed. Sold the rods to help a friend get his motor back together. Also found out the mustang 4lug is different than our 4lug, 4x4.25 vs 4x4.5. So I ordered a set of ranger driver side axles for the 5lug conversion. Still have to figure the brake setup. I guess I can simply grab rotors, calipers and caliper brackets off a ranger at the junkyard. PM me if you are interested in purchasing the volks. Hopefully I can get some welding accomplished tomorrow.

Factory brackets removed, 4link bracket tacked. I borrowed a tig and am teaching myself to use it as I go.

Was looking through Craig/Gsx build and noticed a photo on this page in which he changed two studs to keep the 4 lug. http://www.4g61t.org/forum/viewtopic.ph ... 1&start=90

I'm going to look into that today, I would love to keep my wheels.

It looks like I going to have to drill the axles to keep 4lug, anyone know how it was done on the cataplt?

Here is the axle with the 4link brackets in their final location.

This is where the rear end will be. Finishing the front chassis brackets tonight, fingers crossed.

Criag bought aftermarket axles for a 4lug fox body I believe. Or he had them drilled to 4x114 when he.bought the axles
He also used the 8.8 out of a turbocoupe.
